Casino Run Ideas *UPDATE*

Want to post here get some feedback on timing for a trip to the Kewadin Casino (St Ignace). We will be in to Mill Creek Thu around noon. Friday has kinda been reserved for the Island and Sat AM is golf and the PM is the potluck. That leaves Thu, Sun, or maybe Sat mid-morning but be back in time for the potluck.

Sat could be problematic as there may be golfers that may want to go and also some may want to spend time during the day preparing food for the potluck.

Sun might be good if enough are staying thru til Mon - like us.

Input please...

Dave and Cheryl-- Have a question-- Are the casinos up there "smoke free"? We don't have any in Nebraska(their a bunch of prudes here) but we have three across the Missouri River in Council Bluffs, IA and they are not but they have been divided off for those that do and those that don't! DW doesn't smoke and I quit about two to three years ago, so just wondering!
Sunday would be good if you want to "Party Hardy" before leaving!

P.S. How's the shoulder doing Dave?

Ron, I will double check on the smoke free situation. I am a non-smoker and quite sensitive to smoke. There are some casinos that I can't handle. Cheryl and I were there once about 3-4 years ago. My sister and BIL go there quite frequently. I personally don't remember a bad experience...

I will check and get back. I will be in a swamp all day tomorrow supervising building a boardwalk. My shoulders won't let me do much at all. I will post back ASAP.

Ron, I can push the buttons on a slot machine, though...

Just for info, all casino's in Iowa are NOT smoke FREE. They all have designated non-smoking areas. Similar to the no peeing in this end of the pool rules in effect at all swiming pools..... :-)

New tentative info - still checking on verification of some things. This is for sure, though - Michael Bolton will be at the Kewadin Casino Thu, July 30. Tickets are $50.

Also, checking on info from BIL and sister (waiting for casino call-back) - Bridge fare ($6) reimbursement promo (when they were there last). Ask toll booth attendant for receipt - must be within 24 hrs from receipt date for reimbursement at casino - must get players card and have 25 pts min on it (sister said her and hubby got one card between them and got their 25 pts that way).

Also waiting for verification of any other promos - such as group promos, etc. Will get back as soon as we get a callback.

Dave, if you decide to go Sat morning and I'm playing golf, and I give you $10, can you make it turn into $1000. ?

Where did I put my Monopoly game??? If I got enough takers, I'd just keep going to the Canadian border...

Actually you don't want to give me a dime. Cheryl however seems to do much better than me. I am not very "lucky".

I am still waiting on a call back from the casino regarding any group promos. However, I have been told by another casino office that they do have a shuttle that will come to the CG and pick us up - if we have over five people. I told them that we would probably have at least that many and they gave me the shuttle number to call.

If you want to go over on your own, it is not that far of a ride, except you still have the $6 bridge fare.
