When we get home, our cardinals, downey and woolly woodpeckers and our woodside menagerie are going to be so hungry they'll think their throats have been slit. It always takes a couple of weeks for them to forgive me for leaving.

Tom,
On another post, you mentioned selling birds for fuel money. If you are taking orders, I am interested in seeing if you would possibly consider a cardinal (WV state bird) for a project. I seem to remember that you did one before, do you have any pictures of cardinals that you did?? If you are interested, PM me or e-mail with details.

How long does a bird like this one take you to carve?

Sandy I can usually carve and detail the bird in about one day and paint him the next, so all in all around 2 days to complete and to make the base I want him on.
