Loose bolts on Reese 5th wheel rails-Line-X

Has anyone had any problems with their carrige bolts that go through the Reese rails having the nuts work loose? More specific, If you have a Line-X or Rhino type liner with the rails mounted on top the liner
(no cut outs). If so any solutions?? How about using Lock Tite. These are installed in an 06 Ford 350. Thanks

I have a BullHide liner in mine and the bolts on the Reese hitch haven't loosened at all. The BullHide is a rubberized spray-in liner, very similar to the the Rhino liner. If you are having a problem, the use of LockTite would be the most reasonable choice.

I have a Reese 5th Wheel hitch mounted over a LineX sprayed on liner. I have had no problems with bolts loosening but now I plan to check it periodically. I have had this set up for only four months.

Check and see if the installer put lock washers on the mounting bolts. If you have them you may want to go to a compression style nut. If this was a one time problem the intaller may not have checked to see if all was tight. If you use loctite try not to get any on the bed liner it may have a chemical reaction with the liner coating.

I have a Rhino spray in liner and never had a problem with my Reese and the bolts working loose. This is the second truck with a spray in and no problems on the last either.

Why not use all three...lock washers, lock nuts and LockTite?

I have a 16K Reese Hitch mounted on top of a Vortex spray-in liner. I've check those bolts several times and none of the nuts have not loosen.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I bought some loctite today and will look for the compression nuts for the 3/4 bolts. There are washers on the bolts but I need to check if they are lock or flat type. Thanks again. This is a great forum.

Regards,
