Surprisingly, you can find replacement locks at Lowe's Home Improvement, and they fit. They have an assortment of the back side latch pieces for most applications.

It has been my feeling for many years that the only reason there are locks on the compartment doors is as a preventative measure to help keep the doors from opening during travel.

Don't let out my secret! That's how I go shopping on the Montana and SOB lots after hours. My keys pretty much open 60% of them.

A bit off topic but not -- this past weekend one of the electrical people who had been working in Texas returned home. Tired, Tired and extremely tired, he parked his company truck in his driveway, turned everything off and locked the doors; after several hours of sleep he came out to get his cell-phone and paperwork -- yeap -- he locked his keys in his truck (both sets by the way!). Long story short -- he couldn't open it with a jimmy bar (protected by the company); windows wouldn't open enough to get in. He was about to call a lock smith when I offered 'have you tried any other keys!'. Nope -- I took out my 2008 Dodge key and tried it -- nope; then my 96 jeep key -- it opened the door without any problem. Thinking it was a fluke, we relocked the doors (1st getting his keys out) and then opened it again. Tried the ignition but it didn't work the ignition. Now my Dodge keyfob happens to work on a cadallac we saw at the grocery store -- my lock frequency does his alarm; my unlock unlocks his and my warning locks his vehicle.... He was not happy at all when he came running out at hearing the alarm (he was coming out at that time anyway -- that is why we tested the other parts of the key fob). His key fob did my warning alarm and lock but did not unlock my Dodge (????). Given only so many frequencies, or key combinations, we trust others don't have ours. It is disconcerting to find the one that matches though -- that is for sure!!. Sorry for being so long winded again -- get to typing and forget to be brief.

hahahahaha - No - I didn't steel anything . Heck, I can't even get a bid on Ebay for the China stuff out of my own Monty, let alone go out and search for more!

So then, another man's junk is really not another man's treasure????

Disturbing!

About the keys also.
