dc converter question

to conserve energy if I turn off my converter, will my 12 volt items still work off the battery?

Reason I ask is I built a 280 ah lifepo4 battery. I want to run power cord off portable inverter to 5th wheel to power 120 volt items. I don't want to get caught in the loop of converter trying to charge the batteries. what I have set up is generator in the truck to run air conditioner cord plugs into the 5th. then at night be able to turn off generator plug into my portable inverter to watch tv, charge phones and make coffee in the morning. no reason making all that noise.

I'm not really interested in hard wiring anything like transfer switch or new power center.

thank you

Just turn off the converter (using the breaker in the panel). If you plug shorepower to the portable inverter make sure you unplug/shutoff all the 120v loads you don't want sucking down the inverter battery.

I have solar. To prevent overcharging the batteries I turn off the converter circuit breaker fairly frequently (sometimes for days if really sunny) and let the batteries run down a bit.
