TV in Living Room
We changed campgrounds and are now hooked up to cable. The TV in the living room (on the higher channels) is snowy, black and white and sound won't adjust. Hardly watchable. The TV in the bedroom (same channel)is crystal clear, bright colors and sound works great.
Where is our problem?

The first thing I would check to be sure tv is setup for cable channels and not ant, as the freq. differ above channel 13.

Gary is correct, on your remote for the living room TV, there should be a menu button that will let you select either CATV or Antenna. Seems like there are three settings but I can't remember the other.

Did that first thing. In fact, did living room TV twice.

Were you on sat before and by chance changed the hookups in the DVD cabinet?? They are different. Trying to help, but it doesn't sound like we are succeeding. Also, I assume antenna booster is off??

Occasionally cable channels at campgrounds are set up on antenna channels. Try the antenna selection.

Also check to make sure you have the antenna booster off. I found when the booster is on and I am hooked to cable, the picture horrible. Just another idea...

I am having the opposite problem. On the lower channels both sets are working great. On the higher channels the bedroom TV is all snow and the lving room TV is as sharp as can be. Any ideas?

BirdingRVer,
It still sounds like the menu settings are not correct, I think I would check both TV's to make sure they are set the same, pull up the setup menu on the one that is working good and make sure the other is set the same, check that antenna booster is off also. Keep us informed, particularly if it works.

I've only had problem with this once and the solution was what Montana Sky said about the antenna booster.

If the basic set up is correct on the television and the bedroom TV works fine, I would suggest checking the cable connections at the back of the TV and at the splitter and don't be afraid to crank the tight. If that doesn't work move cable location to another outlet in the splitter and if that doesn't work replace the cable from splitter to TV. I had the same thing happen to mine, fooled around with it for a month, finally replaced the cable and have had no problems since. Had a similar problem at home except it was on all the TVs, wound up being a bad cable from street to house. Hope this helps.
