Great Tow Vehicle!
Sitting here in Fayetteville NC (Wade KOA), completing my first long pull of my Montana with my 2011 Ford 350 6.7. What an engine! Put it in cruise control, and stayed at 1500 RPM from Florida to NC, with 14.2 MPG average. Had a Ford 7.3, 6.0, a GMC duramax and now this 6.7, and this one is the best. Just hope reliability does not become an issue in the future. And quiet, quiet, quiet!

Good luck. I hope you have better luck with the new 6.7 than many others have had with the 6.0 and 6.4. Never have understood why Ford doesn't fix what's broken instead of making a new one that is beset with new problems.

Don't worry, the 6.7 is the most advanced engine ever put in a pickup. It has a compacted graphite iron block instead of cast iron. It is much stronger and much more wear restraint than the cast iron that is in every other pickup diesel engine. I think the only other truck you will find this material is the new 7000 series Kenworth. You have the strongest transmission ever put in a pickup, able to handle 1400 pound feet of torque. Dealer told me when I bought mine that this engine and transmission was developed in house by Ford and subjected to the most rigorous testing ever.
I have owned many pickups throughout the years and I agree with 1retired06, it is the best.

Our 08 6.4. does not get the MPG of the 6.7 but it is a strong motor and truck. We have not had a bit of trouble with the 6.4 after 50K of pulling this 3400 Montana.We had no trouble with our previous Fords or G.M trucks.. It made no difference what truck we had we never got much better than 10MPG towing.

Those are some nice numbers! I was using 11 to 12 for our planning this summer with our 2011 F350 Dually. I got 19.2 from Lower FL to Skagway Alaska. The nicest feature so far I'm fond of, and I'm sure there will be more, is IT STAYS WHERE YOU PUT IT. It is such a comfortable ride. We test drove a GMC Duramx (which I have owned two of) before buying this and the fit, finish and interior was simply very subpar. We figured we are going to hopefully spend many an hour in this rig, might as well be comfortable. We got the King Cab and I don't regret it at all.
Enjoy that nice (quiet)ride!

Gail and I have been GM people all of our married life. She, all of her life. Last year, we test drove a 2012 1 ton SRW crew cab. I don't remember which model it was but, it had everything in cluding heated/cooled seats. We was very impressed!! Most likely would have bought it but, the dealer did not want my gently used '05 Silverado good enough to satisfy me. When I get real serious about trading, I will indeed consider a Ford.

I have towed 16k miles with my 2011 F350 and smile every time I fire it up. It is quiet and strong with a smooth operating transmission. With speed control set it hums along rarely needing to downshift into 5th gear and when it does it does so smoothly. This vehicle is a huge improvement over the 04 6L I previously owned.

Was that towing you got 14.6 as the best I get towing at 63MPH set on cruse is 11.1 and most the time 10.8 towing . I have a 2011 F250 with air bags pulling a 3465SA ..sailer

A couple things, I had the 6.0 and had years of trouble free driving, only having to change the alternator due to all the pulling we did. That and previous editions of Ford's diesel (prior to '11) were built by Navistar engines. As we all know, the reliability has always been questioned, although some of us got lucky with ours.
This new diesel is a brand new in-house built by Ford powerhouse and is an incredible change in their diesel. They have indeed fixed what's broken by doing it themselves this time with obvious excellent engineering ideas, like repositioning the turbo to almost fully eliminate the turbo lag so many of us hate. The increased horsepower, and huge torque are definite reasons to smile, but the quiet of it is incredible, sounds like your average gas engine. I sure hope it proves to be as reliable as the 6.0 I had before.

I agree that the 6.7 is strong. I have towed my Montana 3625 4000 miles over the past 3 months with my 2011 F350 SRW. It is the best truck I've owned by far. Sometimes I completely forget I am towing. Ford's in house development is a huge improvement from previous engines.

Just completed 21,000 on my 2011 F350. Great truck! I enjoy every drive. I get a lot of unsolicited compliments on it. Handles the mountains superbly. Couldn't ask for more.

I was running 14.2 to 14.9 the entire trip pulling the Montana. Terrain was flat. Getting 16-18 running around town, and 20-22 on the interstate when not towing. I do use CTAN, which when I started using with my old 6.0, added a mile or two per gallon.
