Oh, I forgot. We put in the PullRite slider hitch and I love it. No concerns about the trailer coming close tot he cab.

Before your hitch I'd be more concerned with the truck. Your trailer looks to be 14200 loaded out assuming you do that. Your pin will run around 2800. the hitch will about about 200. fuel, passengers and other gear in the bed will put you close to over your truck payload rating. All those things and the trailer will most certainly put you over the your CGWVR. Sure the truck will tow it, but stopping and handling it in all conditions could be unsafe. Adding airbags which is common for 3/4 ton truck owners that tow... will cut 100 lbs from your usable payload. Its a good thing we have all these big heavy duty high horsepower pickups now to haul these campers, its a wonder how back in the day we had lighter duty trucks, weaker frames with low horsepower power like under 180hp and 3 speed transmissions and smaller rear ends and axles, using air shocks not the fancy air bags and still hauled those big heavy trls all over the country and nobody ever worried about the CGWVR. How did we ever get bye huh imagine that

I have a Demco Auto slider 21k. It works great with 3790 RD.

Now that we can get back to your question, and not have to hear that you need a Peterbuilt to pull your FW, I have always had a standard bed for the past three FW’s, and had both hitches, fixed and sliders. With an auto slider, you will never look back or pucker up in a bind. I will never go back to a fixed hitch. And I really don’t need a slider 95% of the time. I have the Pullrite SuperGlide and like it. I hated it at first. But after lubricating from inside out, it works good. It requires adjustments and lubrication on the rails every time you use it, which is messy and agrevating. It is really heavy, but I have a tractor to lift it out. Just remember you cannot unhook from your Monty at just about any angle, so really think about that. And cannot hook back up at any angle. I think B&W makes a better slider, but it is only a manual slide. AND, the Pullrite has no height adjustments. Good luck. PM me if you need more info. Good luck.

Look no further than the Anderson Ultimate 5th Wheel Hitch. I've been using one for 6 years and I'll NEVER go back to the 300 lbs of noisy, old school hitches! I can literally lift it with one hand! From fully installed back to a clean truck bed in under 5 minutes all by myself. My wife can even do it all by herself.

We have a pull-rite slider with a 50 gal aux. fuel tank in 6' bed of our 2016 2500 RAM 4 wheel drive. We have no problems turning or backing our 2016 3160RL Monty.

I’ve been looking at the blue ox fifth wheel hitch which has a different method for a slider. Check it out.

Some good vids on youtube. I do like the b&w companion slider but it lbs heavy.

Anderson is intriguing but I’m not sold yet. The way Anderson gets you extra length is pretty simple so you don’t need a slider with it. You just turn around the pin connection. I need enough room in the bed for a generator.

I haven’t bought one yet but it probably won’t be a pullrite.

I would have NO faith in it.
The welds look like first day High School welding class and light weight on hitches seems ? well wrong!

Check out the failure on YouTube! The pin did not fail until a ridiculous amount of weight and the tubes didn’t fail till well above that. It’s amazing but true. I have no problem with the structure of the Anderson. Nice piece of engineered solution.

I have been very satisfied with our AUH.

I had a pullrite slider and thought it was the bomb. Until I was jackknifing the trailer and hit the bed rails, twice and the bed area behind the hitch is un usable for anything the moving pinbox might hit when making a turn.

Bought a 5th airborne sidewinder pinbox and 19K Demco Recon (100lb) hitch and it is the real bomb. Just was in a campground in Santa Cruz two weeks ago and the best spot in the park required me to jackknife the trailer and then disconnect while at about an 80 degree angle. The sidewinder allowed me to do this perfectly and then rehook the trailer with no problems at all.

This could not have been done with the pullrite slider.

I'm just sayin.

and, if you have a short box, in my opinion, you don't need a slide hitch if you are careful on the sharp turns backing up.


And, as for your size of truck you'll do fine...in my opinion.

I went with the Anderson Hitch because I already had the factory goose-neck ball mount. But to get the best ride add a Morryde pin box. I had the Trailair and that didnt eliminate the chucking.
