Noobie

I'd like to thank everyone who sent welcoming messages a few days ago when I signed up. I'm Keith and my wife is Cathy, we took possession of a new 3402RL on Saturday. We got the TV 5 weeks ago and that's an F250. We are brand new to RVing and we're hoping to get lots of good information and to meet some new friend here and on the road.
Thanks
Keith & Cathy...

Even though you're new, please feel free to jump in and share your experiences. We all need information on good places to camp, things to do and see and what dealers and repair facilities are good and not so good. So even though you're new you have information we all need and want. Also, don't be afraid to ask questions or feel dumb if the answer is simple. We've all "been there and done that" If you find some of my early posts, particularly the panicked one where I forgot to turn on the battery disconnect switch you'll feel good about asking anything. Hope to meet you and Cathy down the road!

Welcome to the Forum, but not to burst your bubble, but I think you will find you made an expensive mistake with the F250 (you must have listened to the Truck salesman, RV salesman, or maybe both). 3402s are one of the heavier Montana units and most pulling them are using 350/3500 TVs and a Dually would be ideal. Afraid you will end up spending extra money trying to make the 250 do the job of a 350. I know our SOB is a little heavier than the 3402, but we're pushing the limits of our 3500 Dually and wouldn't even think of trying it with a 2500. Just my opinion and personal preference.

Keith and Cathy... use your own judgement and check the weights and capacities of your TV and RV. Most important, weigh your RV per instructions and come to your own conclusions. Exceeding the ratings of your TV is never a good idea. I know you'll be close. The 3402 is a beautiful rig.
We wish you the very best and hope to meet you on the road!

Years ago I was into truck and tractor pulling. We drug a gooseneck trailer weighing over 12,000 lbs with a 9,000 lb tractor and a 7,500 lb truck with a Dodge 3/4 ton truck. Never had any problems.
