Its my turn

It finally happened to us, a quality control miss. A few months ago i installed a splendid washer in our unit and it works great until today when my wife calls me at work and says the front bedroom is flooded. I get home and we vac up the water and place fans to dry the carpet. but something seems odd the washer is in the closet but that carpet was not wet, so after removing the dresser and the box cover over the pipes that run up to the closet, i find the black drain pipe was not glued and finally popped apart and there you have it, a wet floor. Now i have a question i need to glue the pipe back in so i do not know a lot about the black pipe i'm from an area that uses pvc white pipe can i inter change the white with the black or do i need to find the black fittings and is there a glue that i need to use or can i use the standard PVC cement. And thanks in advance.
