Edit a Post

How do you edit an existing post and keep it at the top of the string of responses?

You can edit a post within a certain amount of time after you initially enter that post. Not sure what that time frame is, but no more than one day I think. But after that time, you can no longer edit it.

Welcome to the new forum management's weird policy. You have 3 hours to edit. There is a way to get it extended indefinitely for rally lists, etc. Check out this posting and the management's response.

The forum software is configured to not let edits after some time passes.

If you would like to request a post be marked so you can edit it (for purposes like this) simply report the post by click on the little triangle icon below the posters name. It looks like this .

I recently updated my post via edit update but don't see it listed in new or today's post.

In my experience, even though you have the ability to edit a posting (which does require special permission), the edit will not trigger the update posting being marked as "updated", Consequently, it doesn't show up in the new or Today's posts.

I think many of us wish it worked differently.

It was working and showing the updates but now it does not? Believe someone mentioned there was a time window to allow the edit? I did go through approval to do updates/edits?
