I'm going to install one on mine because I have a quadcopter that I fly around the campsite and I want to know wind speed and direction. I am going to get an Acurite weather station. They have ones that come with dual displays so I can take one display outside and mount the other one inside. I live in Fl and I have a really nice wireless weather station mounted on the roof of my stick home. It's made by Davis Instruments it works great but it's not cheap.

There are many different weather stations out there to choose from. Costco has some, Camping World, or if you want the really good, Maximum and Rainwise make ones to the National Weather service standards. BUT, they are expensive.

Davis instruments, as mentioned, and one that I have is Oregon Scientific. Both good, and more reasonably priced.

I have an Oregon Scientific one in the Monty, and I have the Maximum weather station at the stick house, but the Maximum cost me over $1500 for that one.

Just "Google" home weather stations and be prepared for lots of viewing.

I actually also have one that is very basic, with a rain gage (tube) a wind direction arrow, a temperature gage, and a whirligig that I just stick in the ground.

George, I recommend checking with ambientweather.com. They have all different price ranges. I believe that most attach them to their ladder with the supplied bracket. I have a Davis Vantage Vue at home that I love, but expensive for an RV.

I have the Acu-rite 01500,currently with the single solar panel for running the fan. I have it installed on a 2x4 mounted on the ladder. I use U-bolts for the mount with plastic shims for making it perpendicular. Since I'm currently stationary this works fine for me. Once I begin moving I'll probably redo the mount to make it easier to set up & take down.

Here is an Acu-Rite Weather Center I got from Wal Mart, $99. It covers everything...wind speed/direction, humidity, temp, bar pressure, forcast, rain fall, max/min data, history, alarms, and probably some I've forgotten:

Ron, The "jaybird" you responded to is not me. There are two of us with similar scree names. Mine is "Jay Bird". But thanks for the info. I would have had the same question.
