Couple beginner questions

I accidentally left my manuals in a cabinet and we have put the RV in storage....

The switch for the battery is confusing me.... It says battery disconnect Off or On...... It seems like a double negative situation..... Should it be on or off if we want the battery disconnected to save the charge until we need it?

Also where do you guys hang your towels to dry? I can't find a good place for towel holders.... I don't have my washer/dryer combo yet. If I did I guess I could just toss them in there ....

Thank you!!!

if you can pull out the red key than it is off. You can also try the light in the convenience center. Turn it on and then try.

We installed 2 towel bars on the shower door glass. We used double stick tape and silicone. they have been there since 2010.

What Brooksider said. If you can take the red key out the battery is disconnected.

When the Disconnect switch is in the ON position the battery is connected.

Note, if you have the switch in the OFF position,(the red key thing can be removed) and you are plugged into shore power everything will work but the battery will not be charging.

Note, the jacks/level system will work with the battery disconnect switch in either position.

Towels, The shower door has a rack on it, one towel there. We have a wall about 12" wide beside the shower. We got a "command hook" and stuck it on the wall and one towel hangs there. You can remove the "command" type of hooks. I also use small command hooks for hanging keys by the door and a couple larger ones for my hats.

We have a metal towel rack that hangs over the shower door. Room to hang 3 towels. Have had since 2008 and purchased at CW I think.

We have a 2010 3000RK and I turn the red handle to the off position and STILL DISCONNECT the positive cable from battery. I have heard there is still a drain on battery if left connected. This is true in my case, so I totaly disconnect battery lead if I am not going to be using trailer for an extended period of time. Maybe the newer trailers this may not be necessary.

bigred is right ... even with the battery disconnect in the off position, there are still a few things powered up. If you are leaving the fiver in storage for a while, remove a battery cable or you'll return to a flat battery.

If you are going to leave the Monty in storage until May, I would pull the battery and take it home. Put on a changer now and then like a battery minder.

If battery gets discarded it will freeze. A charged battery can with stand -92 F while a battery at 20% will freeze at +19 F. (source Trojan maintenance guide).

You didn't say what model unit you have but it should work whether you have a shower enclosure or the newer tub/shower set up. In respect to the towels, I have taken 3/4" plastic conduit and measured the width from the wall to the shower door frame. I then cut the conduit to that length and cut each end in half about two or three inches in from the end. If you put them in place over the tub or the shower you can hang your towels on them and even drive down the road without them falling into the tub or shower. OR If you can find an expandable shower curtain rod you can stretch it from end to end, tighten the rod an hang your towels on it. We've used that also and with a combination both.

The question on the battery switch has been covered pretty good. We got a over-the-door towel rack from Camping World. It fits good and has four towel knobs protruding for hanging towels. We also installed a small round hand towel ring holder to the right of the medicine cabinet.

So Anna & Jim, no camping until spring?

Annaoinga; We also have the 3725RL, same model as you. When I had the washer & dryer installed in the hallway closet it made the clothes hanging bar ineffective. I removed the bar from the closet and install a shelf in it's place above the washer and dryer. I measured the length of the tub above the fiberglass shower walls and cut the bar to that length. I picked up some rubber chair feet at Lowes and installed them on each end of the bar so they won't scar the wall paper. The bar spans over the tube and provides a place to hang wet towels or wet laundry that needs to hang and dry. Hope this makes sense to you. There really is no other place to put a towel bar in the bathroom of the 3725RL. When taking a shower we simply lift the bar out of the way.

Wife loves this bar to hang things on. If you want a picture PM me.

We installed several large Command Hooks on the wall and use those.

I went totally crazy for our towel rack. Went to Home Depot and found a double towel rack is the same color as our fixtures and even though it was to wide I cut it down and fit it to our entry door wife loves it looks like a factory install hangs two towels only problem I have with it is making sure the door is pushed open all the way while entering or leaving the bathroom so I don't catch it with my shoulder as I am on the tall side. But it really isn't a problem now. Hope this helps a little happy camping.

In our 2009 3400 there is a shelf in the bathroom above the toilet. I think it came with a hook or two already there. I added multiple hooks so we can hang our towels in there. Works great. We open the bathroom roof vent after showers to help the towels dry quicker.

Hang our towels over the shower doors, have considered hooks but have not found a best-place for wall hook in our 3725RL. We left the bar over the washer & dryer and put clothes hangs there for use when taking out of dryer, use top of washer & dryer as shelf.

Thanks for all the great ideas!!! I like the shelf above the washer idea - I was wondering where to store my laundry products... I've still got to order the combo. Do any of you have a Haier one? It's in the top 5 on two review sites.

The rod above the shower sounds good too. Thanks everyone. I've got some of those command hooks too - didn't even think of using them!

I've got to run out and take the battery key out and get the battery. It got down to the 20s this week and I don't want to be without it on our next trip. We have a drip charger - is that the right kind? We used it on our wave runner battery in the old days.....

JandC - we hope to do some long weekend trips during the winter - I can't go too long without using my new toy.... . But we can't keep it at our house due to covenants so.... At least it's not too far from us.

You guys are so helpful!!! Thank you!!!

When choosing a Washer/Dryer, in my opinion, the main thing to consider is who repairs them and where they are located. If you're just making trips from home and the local dealer is also an authorized repair facility (not always the case even though they sell them) it's not an issue, if you're traveling far from home for extended periods make sure you can get it repaired where you plan to spend time.
