Ca min is 14 inch on bridges. Max with no permit is 14. Odd? I will say this, upstate NY where we have a home, has 14 ft only in center lanes. That becomes dicy when traveling some areas. We have "back tracked" couple times. Set alarms off at tunnels.

Exactly! We encountered one such bridge out west in a small town. The pavement underneath was fresh and looked to have been added to the existing asphalt below. I wondered if the signs had been upgraded.

Definitely something to watch for. When I drove a semi in college one of our straight truck drivers did a sardine can number on his box by taking the same route after a repave that he always took before and that wasn't in a small town that was in Indianapolis. Raised the pavement 4" and left the sign the same.

I just had a Penguin 2 installed on the front of my Mountaineer and I now measure 13'5". This is with taller Toyo HD tires.
