Going to be a little cool here in South Texas, (Uvalde), too. Forcasting high 60's and low 70's. We sure don't miss the white stuff or the ICE.

I don't mind white stuff at all. Snow means no more mowing, and that's a very good thing.

Jan, just keep that white stuff up there, please. The forecast here shows no precipitation between now and the day after Thanksgiving. Now, if that could just be extended another month I'd be happy!

Our snow did melt the next day when the temp got up to mid 40's. No more in the near forecast so maybe we won't have any before we leave about Dec. 15--of course we have to go across to VA so we are hoping for none going East.

Sailer, can we get a boat ride in Jan or Feb. I would love to say I went boating in Jan or Feb.

You know Jan and Paul may not have any snow left but we're across town in Omaha and we still have still have about two or three inches of snow in our back yard. The sun melted the snow in the front yard but not the back yet! We were in Lincoln on Friday night to see the Jeff Dunham Show when the snow hit and we drove back from Lincoln to Omaha about 11:30 PM with a top speed of about 40-45 mph. It took us about two hours to drive back because of the heavy snow coming down(two flakes would have filled your hand and it was extremely wet) where it normally takes about an hour. There were about 20 or more cars in the median and every semi had pulled off into reststops and on the exits. They were taking no chances. They received about 8-10" between Omaha and Lincoln on a strip about 10 miles wide. We headed out to the farm the next day about 45 miles west of Omaha and we couldn't believe what we saw. No snow at all! My brother said there was just a "skif" of snow in the morning but it was all gone by 9 AM. Nothing like Nebraska weather!

I lived in Omaha for 5 years working for the US Army Corps of Engineers. In 2005, we retired to Arizona and we don't miss a bit of the snow (or the -10 weather).

Brad and Carol-- Sorry to hear you moved away from us! We are still here and more than likely remain here at least until we can't tow the Monte anymore anyway. We have two great grandkids here and I'm sure we'd miss them since they are only 2 years and 9 months old and are growing so fast and just those changes would be missed by both or us! Our weather definately goes to the drastic extremes at times but it is still home and I guess we'll live with it! Maybe you can come back up and join us this next July. We'll be hosting the second Central Plains Rally here between Omaha and Lincoln at Pine Grove RV Park and Campground. Watch for further posts on the Rally coming up around the first of the year!
Steve-- You spent many a year up here in the Plains and I can give you credit for heading down South after spending the Holidays with your family here! Enjoy your time with them and maybe we'll be able to get together before you headout again.

One of our primary goals when we hit the road in October of 2006 was never to be in snow again and we we proud to announce that execpt for passing through some of the higher altitudes out west we have not seen snow. Today, Thanksgiving it was in the mid 80's here near Disneyworld. The snow generated at Disney Hollywood studios during the Osborne Family Christmas light show does not count.
