Slide creep
A few months ago my bedroom slide would creep out a few inches while traveling. I took it to the dealer and he worked on it. The next time out the same thing happened. Back to the dealer and he replaced the pumps.
Took it home, parked it with all slides in and after a couple of weeks I checked and the bedroom slide had creeped out 11 inches.
Has anyone had problems like this and what fixed it?

We had the slide cylinder changed and it worked for awhile. Now it is creeping again. It is going in again to the shop.

I would suspect the check valve in the hydraulic pump. What you're experiencing is exactly what we experienced only it was our living room slide that would creep out when going down the road.

If you have the manual control knobs for each slide near the hydraulic pump ... close them all. If the slides stop creeping, it's in the pump unit itself ... if the slides still move, it's a cylinder, hydraulic fitting, or line. The latter takes time to track down. If you're NOT loosing any fluid, it's more than likely a cylinder.

This sounds a little scary and 11 inches seems quite far out. How ironic that yesterday my wife and I were driving up the interstate and on the other side I saw a trailer with its slide sticking out some distance. I have never seen this before and I can only hope that everyone that was close to him probably honked their horn to try and warn them.
Once, some years ago I saw a trailer being towed on a street with the slide out fully extended fully, but it had an escort trailing them and both vehicles had their hazards on, so I figured it was being towed to get repaired.
So if one is lumbering down the road and they find a slide is creeping to extend, what is the recommended workaround. Will pulling over and retracting the slide work? Does the creep tend to stop at a certain point? Would closing all the slide valves prevent creep? Does anyone know what other kinds of things can be done, until one is able to limp to an RV repair shop?

I would be contacting Lippert, the manufacturer.

other than having it fixed you could always purchase slide locks for the inside of the camper.
these can be found at campingworld "Catalog Item # 15674"
they should stop the slides from creeping out.
