Chest In 3400RL

The DW's cat manages to get behind chest under the television in the bedroom. He climbs through an open drawer then gets in the back where we can't reach him. How do those drawers come out? There appears to be a stop of some type at the end of the slide on each side. It's very frustrating when we are ready to go...and can't lure the cat out of his hole.

Bert,

I bet if you took the cat for a 200 mile drive while closed in there, he would never go back in there again!! Oh, I think I hear the PETA people knocking at the door. Ok, maybe take him for a 1 mile drive. LOL

LOL! Funny, I was thinking the same thing. One trip down the highway, I doubt he will do that again. =)

I really don't think they are using the same drawer glides on the new ones that are on my 05 but on the off chance, here is how mine work. The stops on each side of the drawer are on the top of the side rails. The stops pivot in the middle so if you press down on the front of the stop while pulling out on the drawer, the drawer will bypass the back of the stop and pull out. It is a little tricky but can be done. If they have changed them, disregard everything I just said because I don't know.
Good luck,
Rick.

Wow, all this good help.
Pull the drawer out and on each side is a black lever in the center of the guide. Pull one lever up and and push other lever down, pull drawer out while appling light pressure to levers.

On my 06 Montana, all the drawers have a little black plastic tap that is arched and ends in a point. The arched point is showing you the direction to push the tab and as Nailbender states above one will be down and the other will be up. Facing the drawer your right tab should push down and your left tab should lift up and then your drawer will slide completely out.

Some of them take a little gentle wiggling to get to slide out. Going back in they slide in without you touching the tabs and you hear the tabs click into position. I have had all my drawers out and some come very easy, some not quite so easy. Take care.

Rich, Is there an angel on you shoulder by the name of Helen telling you not to make any comments?

As Lamar said, I'd bet if you left the cat in there and 200 miles later you stopped and opened the door, that cat would be setting there on the floor waiting for you.

Sorry PETA, I couldn't resist!

Helen knows how fond I am of cats (not)..Actually we are very allergic to them and under no circumstances could we have one.Besides we have this ...Bird..and Cats love (to eat) Birds...There is this large neighborhood Cat that will sit outside of our rear patio doors with its nose literally pressed up against the glass eyeballing the bird on its perch just a few feet away.

Just get a can of compressed air, like for computer keyboards, spray the air in the hidey hole....out comes the cat.
Works every time for ourn.

Thanks Ozz for the compressed air trick. Will keep some handy.

Our cat is quite large so don't know how he got into this place! We were getting ready to leave a site and I was holding him while I put the slides in. Had to do some other things and then looked for him... no cat! We searched everywhere. We knew he was in there someplace. He was under the bed. Got in there from an area beside the bed that is accessible with slides in. Don had to lift up the bed mattress, lift the wood under and remove the wood under that too(that was easy to remove), climbed under bed and pull him out. Of course he was at the head of the bed!
He rides in the truck on the road.

One more good reason for having a Lab as a traveling companion. Our Lab would have a spastic fit is she ever got behind anything that she thought was going to keep her from getting back in touch with me and the misses. She has seperation anxiety!
