Hairline crack

I was waxing the front cap this morning and climbed up to the roof to reach the top and noticed a hairline crack running east to west from the door side. It was about 3" long before disappearing under the caulking. It is about 3/4" from where the front cap and roof material join. I looked across to the other side where the caulking recedes and there was no crack, so I won't know how long it is unless I peel the caulking back. It doesn't appear to go through the gelcoat all the way, but I can't be sure. Has anyone dealt with this? I know if I take it to the dealer to be inspected, I'll end up with a hefty repair bill. That's ok if it's necessary, but I'm wondering if there are any other options that have been put into play before taking that step. I don't want to just throw some caulking over it and forget about it. It is probably stress-related. If so, I suspect it will get worse. I'd rather figure it out now.

I have 4-5 hairline cracks in the rear cap up top near the running lights where the cap meets the side wall and by the ladder mount below the window. 2 were there straight from the factory. I had them noted during my PDI. I figured a color mismatch on the repair would stick out more so than a hairline crack, so I haven't messed with them. I've not noticed any moistue issue as they seem to be just surface stress cracks.

Ours has a small crack spreading out from the top corner of one of the slideout openings. I drilled a small hole at the end of the crack to stop it from getting longer and filled the hole with white silicone. The crack hasn't gotten any worse in several years and you can hardly see the hole

We have had a few on our units. Always superficial, for us, just the gel coat surface. I watched and once comfortable no more spreading, used white porcelain repair from Home Depot to repair. Matched perfectly and provided good seal. If cracking goes thru the fiberglass itself, then far more serious, and structural instead of cosmetic.

Thanks for the replies. I guess it's not time yet to panic. The front cap probably isn't going to fall off on my next trip. It bears watching to see if it worsens. I'll keep an eye on it. I'm sure I would have spotted it by now if it had always been there. I'm on the roof a lot and wax the camper often enough to have seen it by now. If it doesn't get any worse, I'll fill it one way or another. I'm not worried about how good the repair will blend in, as it is over the curve of the cap, out of view unless you're on the roof.
