Since this past Monday traveling from Florida I paid as little as 2.70 in Virginia and as high as 2.97 in Delaware. Somewhere in between those numbers in Georgia, SC, NC and saw it at 3.09 here in Pa. Seems the further north the higher it seems to be going. By the time we get to NH it'll probably be 3.50. These prices are, of course, for Diesel.

Basically running 2.69 to 2.79 for diesel here in north Texas.
WalMart has been 2.64 with three cents off for using the WalMart Card.
I have seen 3.00 plus in Dallas area.

Last weekend there was a fire at a refinery in Oklahoma so that will probably add to the cost around here.

On May 17, in Death Valley. There are two stations with diesel in the national park. At Panamint Springs where we were staying, diesel was 3.84 per gallon. We took a chance that Furnace Creek would be cheaper when we when sightseeing. We filled up there at 3.54/gallon. Gasoline prices were higher. Unleaded was 3.999, if I recall. Premium was well over four bucks. Captive market I guess.

Vicki probably won't even read this thread, Carol, but I have no doubt she would agree with your statement! It was hot but heat doesn't bother me like it does her. It was dry heat. However, I had my shorts on, leaned into the cab of the truck, my leg very briefly touching the chrome part of the step bar. I say very briefly because I quickly reacted and jumped back. It was HOT! I did this twice in two days. I just don't learn quickly I guess.

Diesel has been running $3.19 here in southern Oregon and regular is about $3.09. They are getting closer in price. We filled up on Saturday for our trip to Mt. Shasta as we suspect it will go up again for the holiday weekend. We should make the round trip on one tank. It is interesting that we are not the highest price in the country as we were this time last year.

From what I am seeing I think I will stay on the east side of the US. Although there are a few gougers out here most all the decent stations are anywhere from 2.89 to 2.97 for diesel. Only the gougers are over 3 bucks and some gouging is as high as 3.30.

In the Caro area of the thumb of Michigan the best price for diesel is at $2.71, with a shoping card discount at Wal-Mart. Some stations like Clark and Admiral are at $2.75. Put in 116 gallons for a long holiday trip.

There are threads on every Rv forum I belong to in regard to "fuel cost" you know is is not so much the high cost of fuel but the high cost of ENERGY. The cost of Gas and diesel is just one part of the overall picture. Our natural gas bill has tripled. Electric bill, Water bill, prices at the super market everything that is energy related has increased tremendously.. There is more than the cost of fuel in a say 2000 mile camping trip..Campground rates have increased. We now see C.G's charging a flat rate..then a A/C charge a W/D charge a 50 amp service charge. their energy cost have sky rocketed. Propane has increased. My pension check is the same amount now as it was the first of the year..no increase.. The high cost of energy will have a significant impact on our travel plans..we only have so many dollars to spend on travel..we don't have anymore..we can't get anymore...and no one is going to give us anymore.
It is just that simple..

Soo, Steve, are you cute with those little red 1st degree stripes across your shins??
Saw gas in Wooster for 2.70... Diesel seems to be 2.89 everywhere around here that has it... which isn't a large number.

Most places in the San Antonio / New Braunfels area were at 2.79 for diesel and 2.63 for gas. Yesterday I saw diesel down to 2.59 and gas at 2.54.
This is a tourist area, combine that with the upcoming holiday and both fuels will be up .15 to .20 cents per gallon soon.

Anyone traveling/living in Eastern Canada (NB, NS, PEI) with insight on Diesel Fuel prices. Will be headed that way later this week and wondering if we should load up before crossing over. In ME, we have been paying 2.89-2.95 consistently over the past month.

Go here....GasBuddy.Com

And for anyone else wanting fuel prices I just did a complete update to the RV Related Links page. Look under Tow Vehicles and scroll down to "Fuel Stuff"

One last thing diesel in the Clearwater area is around 2.96. Of course that's this morning

Yesterday our diesel prices in southern Oregon hit $3.40+. It shows no signs of stopping, and it changes during the day. Our regular prices are about $3.09. We have not paid less than $3 a gallon for diesel for a very long time, and it is running consistently 20-30 cents a gallon higher than regular. Since we only have weekends to get away, we are staying closer to home. It is hard to justify $100+ for gas just for a weekend.

Update - this morning diesel is already at $3.55. I cannot imagine what it is in southern CA.
