Scare light turning on by its self

Any idea on why a scare light would turn on by its self when the light switch
is not switched on. Took the remote to try and turn the light off, but it did not work, so I tried to program the remote, but the programmer does not work. We have not used the remotes for a long time, so I guess the programming module stopped working sometime
in the past, we have an extended warranty so we'll get the programming module replaced. Your thoughts are appreciated.

Somebody close by with a remote?

Disconnected batteries yesterday and then reconnected them and it appears that reset everything. I am now able to reprogram the remote and it operates everything like it did in the past.
