water heating element
During the last year I have replaced my water heater element four times! When I replaced the first one I could only find the short version and since it had a warranty I continued replacing with another short one for the next three. I finally found a long one and purchased it and installed it last fall before winterizing the unit. When we got here in south Texas all was well until last night when apparently the long one quit working too. It was fine for a little over a month as we got here in late November. Since we have been living in the coach since here of course it has had water in it so that isn't an issue. The only thing I have checked so far is the breaker and it has not been tripped. Any ideas on what to check would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Don

Our Element is over 11 years old. Are you sure these elements are Bad? are you checking them with a meter?
I am thinking this could be an electrical supply problem like a wire or Switch

Disconect the wires from the element and put an ohm meter on the element contacts. If you have continuity, the element is good.

If you have been just changing out the element without checking them, I would take a good look at the switch on the heater. It is nothing but a pass thru piece of junk. I would not be surprised if it is burned up inside and losing contact. I would replace the switch they are available or wire in a household style switch somewhere inside the coach.

Thanks, I will check the switch and element with a meter and see if I can find the problem.
Thanks,
Don

One thing, that switch is not repairable, so either replace it or modify it

Mine was intermitent too.The spade connector on my hw switch melted. Just take a small hooked wire,or screwdriver and work the switch out of the housing. On mine, there was plenty of wire to crimp a new connector to it. Ace hardware had the switch. Just be sure to turn off the breaker first. Bill
