Power Awning

I just installed a set of Carefree Colorado 12V awning arms on my A&E awning. It was a learning experience but not a bad job. They work great, just push button to extend and retract. I love it. Just one more improvement of many and I just love to work on my Monty.

gitrdun,

Sounds like a nice upgrade!! Do you have pictures? I'm interested to see how they are installed on an existing awning. Also, if you don't mind, what does a kit go for?

Thanks,

The kit goes for $734 and you have to go through a carefree distributor. Mine cut me some slack and I got mine for $699. You have to remove the tension springs completely. The arms have a motor on one end and the other is an idler. If you have the right measurement over your door you will use the steep model. Go to www.carefreeofcolorado.com and you read all about them.

I bought the same kit for $699 and paid Best Awning out of San Diego $200 to install it. It took 3 guys about 2 hours. Worth every penny, since I couldn't do it myself. I love it!

Yeah they raised the price the first of June, just as I was to purchase. Installed mine myself, took all day but what a learning experience.
