That plastic bow thing.....

Alright, I admit, I don't know what it's called, but it's that plastic bow thing under the living room slide that's outside and holds a couple of wires in place as the slide opens and closes. Well, ours snapped today when we opened up the slide. I duct taped it together just to hold it up for now. I looked on the road side and saw that the opposite slide was already duct taped from previous owner. My question is, anybody know what it's called and where I can buy a replacement or two? I and others have used hinges to put that bow thing back together. Yep I don't know what to call it either. After you put it back together you won't care either because it fixed. I don't have pics but someone will.

Dino I have been meaning to fix one of mine. It broke and I drilled three 1/4" holes in each side and put 3- 1/4" tie wraps to make a temp hinge that was in 07 I think when it brakes again I will fix it right I guess!! LOL

I used a 4 X 4 galvanized gate hinge and did the same (I used self tapping #8 screws on the frame part and 1/4 X 20 bolts, lock washers and nuts against the plastic part). BTW: I think it's called a "Wire Loom".

I bought the gate hinges a few years ago when there was a rash of these breaking. I figured I'd just keep the hinges around until needed. So far we've still not broken one of those looms, or whatever they're called. I suppose one of these days it will happen but so far it has not. I probably just sealed the fate of our looms.

Yet another gate hinge holding the wire loom together here. A popular fix at one time. Montana claimed they changed the design of the loom in newer models to solve this problem. Apparently 2008 wasn't it.

Steve, just buying the hinges keeps the loom from breaking!! If you hadn't have bought them-they would have broken in a heart beat!!

Greetings, trlrboy, do you remember where you got those heavy duty hinges? I have bought many hinges in the past but do not remember any shaped like that. Or,,,, did you get a T hinge and just cut and modify it yourself? Thanks

I bought them at Lowes. They had them near where they sell the outdoor gate equipment and they are either stainless or galvanized, I don't remember which.
