Slide Valve

I just read in a post about something called a slide valve. Is that something you can do yourself. We would love to open the slides seperately instead of all three at the same time. When we stop at a rest stop, we need just an itty bitty more room because of the german shepard.

Hopefully someone at the NH rally has done this and we can see how this was done.

Bill and Ann, I am waiting to look at your "extra" space under ref and stove. Chuck has way too much idle time (right now he is working only 12 hrs a day). Will be on his "too do" list.

Carol: Our unit has the slide unit in the front storage. It has 3 buttons on it which can be controlled by screwing in the slide you don't want to move. I will show it to you at the NE rally. To do or not to do....That is the question. That's how I control my to do list.

Not sure about the 3670 but on the 3400 we have 4 slides and there is a manifold right above the pump in the front storage bay that has 4 knobs labeled for which slide it controls.

Carol, I would think your 06 model would have the valves to control the slides. Look in the front compartment next to the hydraulic slide pump.

A word of caution on using the valves. If they are hard to turn do not put a wrench on them. Bump the slide control switch in the opposite direction from the last time used. This will remove the pressure that the pump is holding against the valves. You will be able to turn the valves with your fingers.

For my 319BHS, I had to contact Lippert Components and they sold me a dual manifold since I have only two slides. Mine did not come with one of those from the factory. They gave me complete install instructions, and it works great. Now I don't need to always open both slides all the time.

Good tip, Charlie. Thanks. I have experienced what you are talking about and will remember your tip for next time.

Mine has a slide switch right by the manifold I could use for that. It's not labeled in and out but I could probably figure it out.

See another Montana or Mountaineer on the road? Flash lights twice, it might be one of us!

Thanks Charlie for this suggestion. We have never used ours so probably would have thought they were stuck. I'll try to remember that if we do ever use it.
