Bad product?
We have always used Thetford's Black Streak Remover. It always worked well and it squirted out of the spout far enough that we could attack those terrible black streaks while standing at ground level. Well, on the road we have not been near a dealer who sold this product so we purchased a substitute (Camco Black Streak Remover). What a disappoinment! Not only does it not remove black streaks, its so-called "Foaming Action" is a joke! It sprays out of the nozzle all of three inches, making it a bit difficult to aim at black streaks up to 12' off the ground. I would never buy this product again...hope you do not get stung by it. By the way, Thetford's product also does a nice job removing pine pitch droppings from you vehicle without damaging the finish. Have not tried in on the rubber roof....

It sounds to me like you may have gotten a bad nozzle with the bottle.

Call Camco and inform them of the problem. It could be an out of date product. Every product has a expiration date.Products that set on shelves to long and are not rotated out get old and the customer gets stuck. Not everyone runs in to buy a bottle of black streak remover.

I tried them all and the only one that worked for me was Bio-Kleen black streek remover. It costs a little more but it really worked for me.

Hi
Simple Green is extremely corrosive and not recommended for use on metal objects. I will see if I can find the DOT bulletin about this. The bulletin also lists a lot of the “ORANGE” products.

I clean any black streaks with the wax I use on the camper. I figure if i have to rub I may as well wax it.

Maybe, but tried a few more bottles at WalMart and all failed "to launch!"

I had the same results with the wax we use...I may be lazy, but I wouldn't want to wax everytime we get some black streaks! Think I'll just "can" the camco stuff and buy an other bottle of the Thetford product when we return home...this weekend!

I use dish washing soap full strength on a sponge, then re-apply wax in those areas.

Awesome from the Dollar store works better than anything else I've tried. Spray it on, wait a couple minutes and wipe it off.

I have used Awesome also and agree it really cleans well. The problem I have noticed with Awesome is it will streak if not wiped or rinsed off. The first time I used it, it streaked the bottom panels really bad.

I have found that if you have a good wax job on the unit just wash the unit and the streaks come right off. Also the trick is, get them before they are on to long. Any black streaks I have are gone just in normal washing.
