Does my inverter need adjustment?
Recently upgraded my house battery from a standard wet cell to two-AGM 12 volts wired in parallel. I recently read a post on a different site from a so-called "expert" in RV's who wrote that if the batteries are changed from wet cell to AGM that some type of adjustment needs to be made to the inverter to make sure that the new batteries charge properly? Anyone else ever heard this? TIA.

you are talking about the converter/charger and as long as you have the newer 3 stage chargers, you will not have to adjust anything. now I did find out in a seminar during the factory rally if you want to use lithium batteries, then you need to adjust or replace the charger for the increased voltage lithium's require.

My trailer is a 2007 3400RL that we took delivery on the summer of 2006. Is it likely that I have the appropriate converter?

I think you should be ok. You may be a little low on truck charging line

DRJJJ while I was talking to customer service technician for the manufacturer of my 3160's converter/ charger he verified that my 2016 would work perfect with the AGM batteries. I ended up with two Trojan 6 volt wet cells. The price was nicer but the main reason was they did not have the AGM in stock at that store. If I remember correctly the AGM's are able to last longer, drop to a lower voltage than the wet cells before needing recharged. More usable range on voltage with out hurting the batteries.
If I am wrong I am sure somebody will help with better facts.

Your 2007 3400 likely has an Iota DLS-45 converter. This is *NOT* a 3 stage "smart" converter. However it can be made into a 4 stage "smart" one by adding an IQ4 plugin. http://www.iotaengineering.com/iq.htm
The converter is located behind the power panel in the bathroom (don't ask me why they put it there). Check it out before proceeding.

Interesting little add-on. Lazy Days has it for $20 and change, and that's got to be worth it, even if I've got to open up my converter to hook it in.

"If" you have an inverter, you'll need to look at your manual for the inverter to adjust the setting on your inverter for the type of battery you have. I just changed my fridge from a RV fridge (Norcold 1200) to a residential fridge and installed an inverter for our new residential fridge. Hope that helps.
thanks

You don't show what Montana you have. The IOTA was used from somewhere around 2004 to somewhere around 2009. The IQ4 only works with an IOTA. There is no need to open up the converter to add the IQ4. It plugs into an existing port on the exterior case of the converter. The connections looks a lot like a standard telephone cord plug. Easy!!
Montana switched to a Zantrac converter after the IOTA and then they switched again to the current Progressive converter. Both of these are true 4 stage converters by design.

The charger needs to be set to charge AGM batteries.
