TV's in or out?
I am curious and wondering what some of the rest of you do with your TV's during storing your Montana's during the winter months. Do you remove your TV's and take them into your house during the winter storage or do you leave them in your camper? Living in Indiana we can experience very cold temperatures in the winter. If  you leave them in the camper, do you cover them in anyway or just leave them as they are and hope for the best in the spring? Thanks for any input...Sammie

I upgraded my old tube type TV's in the RV to flat screens a few years ago. We use the 5'er about 70 days a year. I bought new TV's for the house guest room and computer room. When we leave with the 5'er I just put them in the Monty and away we go. Jim
P.S. Only disadvantage is when I'm using the RV and wife is home no TV in the computer room. Hasn't been an issue so far.

We have never taken them out, and do not treat them in any special manner at all. Rig sits outside in mini-storage all winter long with temperature reaching below zero. No problems to date.

I'm with Bingo ... never removed ours in over 18 years of various fivers and TT's. Dealers have thousands of units sitting on their lots all winter and sell them the next spring with the televisions still intact.

Most of the dealerships in my neck of the woods remove all televisions and electronics like surround sound receivers, DVD players, etc. from all of the units on the lot. Not because of winter temps or humidity issues, but because of theft issues.
More than a few times I have seen news articles that say, "Such and such RV dealership was struck by thieves and a large volume of TV's and stereo equipment was stolen."
I leave all of my electronics in the 5er year round, no problems as of yet related to freezing temps.

I always leave all the electronics in. Have had 2 motor homes and 1 toy hauler and now with or 5th wheel. Never had any problems, and it does get cold here in Idaho in the winter.

Call whoever makes the TVs, they will tell you low temps the TVs can stand.

Depends on where you live in Indiana. I grew up in Hammond. If I lived there I would take everything of value and put the rig up on blocks. Tires and wheels would be the first to go. Weather wouldn't have anything to do with it. Down by Purdue I doubt you have to worry. In Kansas, before we went full time, ours spent below zero winters and above 100 summers with the TV's and things left in it. All of those items are still working today, so it didn't hurt anything.

Thanks for all the responses. Sounds like most leave the TV's in the Montana's. We have taken ours out before. DQ - grew up in Hammond? Didn't know that. Terry grew up in Lafayette and I grew up in Benton County, migrated down here, LOL. Yes, we are in Purdue country, we live in the opposite end of the county from Purdue.

Where we live the winters can be harsh but for the most part they are mild. I leave the TV’s in during the winter and if the temperature drops to the single digits or close to O°F, then I get concerned. Most manufactures have a temperature range stating what temperatures they can be stored in. Different manufactures may vary so it would be good to review the manuals on your TV sets. I have used a small heater for the TV’s when it’s been extremely cold but I'm not sure how I’ll deal with it this year since the storage will be a little different. However, it will still be in the cold and I’m going to leave them in the camper.

I heard one response that the cold freezing weather causes no problem, but it was suggested that you should not turn them on if they are infact in freezing temp. Allow them to warm to room temp. This is not a suggestion, only something i heard.

Leave them in. But put two buckets of moisture absorber in the rig. Then check every month. Depending on the weather in Washington State replace as necessary.
