Watching peoples routine when they leave
With us traveling for my wife's job, travel nursing, we usually stay in one spot for about 13 weeks and try to choose RV Parks without a lot of traffic. Sometimes, we'll even stay in nicer mobile home parks. This assignment didn't have any of those kind of parks so we are in a park just off the highway and we get a lot of weekenders and overnighters. I'm really beginning to enjoy watching some peoples routine when the get ready to leave. I've even learned a few things to do and not to do.
An example, I just watched a guy hook up his 5th wheel and he hit the hitch so hard the landing gear slid about 2' backwards. He unhooked his sewer line and about 3 gallons of fluid hit him in the knees. Last night I watched a guy reform his tailgate inward by not lowering it before he backed the truck under. How do you not see the tailgate is still up when backing under? Unfortunately, I did it a couple of weeks ago pulling out from under, but...
I could go on and on and I'm just rambling, but this is kind of fun to discover I'm not the only dufus in the world.
On Edit; I just wanted to add that some folks have a routine down so good that they make us look like amatures and we've been doing this mostly full-time for 7 years.

About the only thing that compares to this is watching boaters back down a ramp and load or launch a boat.

Last summer we were eating breakfast with Joyce's brother and sister in law watching a class A group pack up and leave. I will never hook up to the water connection again without sanitizing it. Watching what they did with their "stinky slinky's" was at times absolutely hard to believe. Saw them stick their water hose down it, rinse it out by holding it up against the water connection and then turning it on and swishing it around and the crowning move was to remove their water line and then let their dog pee on the water outlet.

Dick...it is so funny you would mention the 'stinky slinky' routine! When we first started out my husband couldn't believe that I wanted him to use bleach to disinfect the water outlet before hooking up. After a few times of watching people he is RELIGIOUS about that particular routine now!
When we were first started RVing we watched a couple with a brand new travel trailer put the jacks down, and then they started jumping up and down on the tongue of the trailer to get it to release the ball from the hitch on their vehicle. It is all just one big learning curve! As my mother used to say, "You weren't born RVing!' So I guess that means we have a lot to learn with all of the do-hickeys, and thingey-ma-bobs!

I was going to post this yesterday and forgot to. We were witness to the most efficient family of 6 in a Big Horn 5th wheel we have ever saw. They pulled in and in about 10 minutes they were set up and setting around under their awning visiting. Everybody had a job to do and they did it well. Even the littelest, about a 6 year old girl, set up lawn chairs faster than I could have. I really enjoyed watching them.

Boat ramps are the best entertainment to watch ,people waiting in line at the pier to load while other boaters cutting in front of them drunken fisticuffs commence ...funny stuff, being a boat owner for many years I have seen ALOT of crazy stuff loading and Unloading at least you do not see Rvers getting in drunken brawls setting up their Rv's

I think I mentioned this before. I saw a camper unhook his sewer hose from the camper and placed it on the picnic table to dry!
Pretty Bad!

Ahhh, the picnic tables. Over Memorial Day weekend we watched our neighbors groom their dogs on the table. We also watched another couple let their kids use the tables to stand on. Gross.

I think we all have stories to tell, many about ourselves.

Last summer, we watched a motorhome drag the electrical cord, the sewer hose, and the water hose on their way to the propane tank.
They're out there!
