front landing gear

my front landing gear have jamed up on the driver side or I call it the main one. I removed it and found the small brass gear is wore out. Who made them? If anyone knows please let me know so I can get parts or a new leg. thank you Jack

Talk to Lippert Components Inc, Customer Service, (866) 524-7821. If you go on their website, there is a lot of info on all their products. Look for "LIP Sheet 039".

Actually I think you will find the landing gear is made by venture mfg. co. See my post under repairs a few days ago. John Kohl is the expect on repairing the landing gear. He has excellent pictures and instructions on his web site. He should be along to help you with any other questions. I am in the process of repairing mine but have to order parts tommorrow. My gears seen ok but the gear pin is broken into three pieces.

Not sure about "expert" but here is a link to photos and the diagram when I did my repair.

I dealt with Venture MFG who makes the landing legs. Their engineer was a great help.

Venture Mfg. Co., 3636 Dayton Park Dr., Dayton, OH 45414, Tel: 937-233-8792.

Definitely call Venture. Lippert will only want to sell you a whole assembly, Venture will sell you parts

I am not sure how John did his. I removed mine by tapping it with a punch and hammer a little at time then rotating it to make sure it would turn so the punch out side was up. Then when about a 1/4 inch was exposed I pulled it out with visegrips. Maybe, there is a much better way but that worked for me.

the big gear is below any holes to get a punch into the pin. that is how i removed the small gear, but stuck on removing the big gear unless i drill a hole in the top of the leg where i could get a punch into the pin? i'll call venture mon. ask them? thanks

I am not sure about big and small gear. The pin on the "horizontal" shaft is removed with a hammer and punch you also have to remove the "E" clip to remove the horizontal shaft. Once the horizontal shaft is removed the gear on the vertical shaft is lifted up and removed. Then the pin is removed from the vertical shaft, it just sits in place.
NO DRILLING WAS REQUIRED.

I only know of bronze bushing on the shafts and the sides of the legs.

I hope this helps.
