Back Home From New Mexico

We left home on Wednesday May 6th, visited with our daughter in Hemet, Ca. till the 12th and headed for New Mexico. We saw a lot of scenery and stayed in a few really pretty places. We were on the road for 20 days and traveled 2980 miles, obviously a pretty laid back trip. Along the way we stayed in Brenda (Quartzite) and Benson AZ. We passed into New Mexico and stayed in Silver City, Deming, Roswell, Santa Fe, Red River, Albuquerque and Meteor Crater, about 30 miles east of Flagstaff.

Did a fair amount of sight seeing and eating. For you Food Network Channel people we ate at 3 places featured on Diner, Drive-ins and Dives. Our old dog Marlowe got sick in Santa Fe and needed emergency surgery 3 days before his 15 birthday. All went well and he is fine now. We had to spend a few more days in Santa Fe than we had planned but if you have to be stranded somewhere Santa Fe isn't a bad place to be.

Ray and Janet,

Sounds like you had a great trip. Except for Marlowe having to have surgery that is! Glad to hear he is doing well.

The area you were in is a great sight seeing area. We plan to spend more time in that part of the world.

Glad you are home. Hope your house didn't get washed away while you were gone. I think it's been raining over in your general direction.

Hope to catch up with you again one of these days.

Hi Dennis, thanks for the concern over Marlowe. We took him to the local vet yesterday and had the stitches removed. He is really a trooper. New Mexico is a lot like Az. with lots of desert and some pretty mountain areas as well.

It was the first time where we have been gone a month. It's kind of neat thinking that you don't have to rush because you have to be back home. I'm sure you and Mary Kay are quite used to that feeling but is was new to us.

We did get some rain here while we were gone the the house was right where we left it. lol.
