On our return trip this fall, we stopped in a rest stop in New Mexico. We were parked on a slope pointed down hill. After walking the dogs, I was in neutral with the brake on as Victoria hooked the dogs into their seat belts. Ready to go I released the brake and the rig started coasting toward the interstate. I didn't think much about it until I shifted into drive, stepped on the throttle and nothing happened. The message center told me I couldn't do whatever I was doing. I pulled to the side of the access road and stopped. Once stopped, I shifted back to drive and everything behaved normally.

Once again the computer wins. My point is there is no problem as long as one knows about this idiosyncracy in advance. If you don't, however, the adrenaline rush is not very welcome. I don't remember reading about this behavior in the manual. But then, I might not have remembered it if I did. Now I do.
