2016 Montana
We bought a 2016 last yr just before the rally, we had to take it in then and have some things fixed. Now we have to drive 300 miles to fix more stuff like the slide trim breaking, the refrigerator door bracket is broke and won't keep shut enough with out putting towels in it because of the condensation in it. Our fenders were not screwed in and came loose, found screws were stripped, so we fixed it ourselves. The slide took a chunk of the wood floor out.Over the years, we have had several Montana's and never had a problem with any of them. I feel like I have a lemon

Do you have the residential Samsung refrigerator/freezer? We were having the same problem with condensation and contacted Samsung. They sent someone out to look at it, he ordered and installed a new part. We haven't had it out since then but are hoping that fixed it. We're going out next weekend so we will know then. Our bracket also came loose and now the door has a dent it in where it rubbed against the island counter. I have a problem with the stainless steel getting a 'fog' on it and so far I haven't found anything to get it off and make it stay away. It looks awful.

Over the years many of us have had the fenders come loose. Bingo suggested backing the screws with spring clips a number of years ago and we haven't had a loose screw since I put them on.

Every one of the screws on our 06 3400 and this 13 3402 have been replaced with the proper spring clips.

Well, you're surely not off to a good start, Beverly. I'm sure most of the new models rolling out of the factory are fine, but there have been some issues also, well documented here. Hopefully, you will resolve these problems without a lot of hassle and then have a solid unit for years to come. Unfortunately, quality manufacturing as a whole is suffering these days. Part of the problem is the pressure to push more out faster and it leads to shortcuts and shoddy workmanship. I don't want to hijack your post and turn it into a rant on the manufacturing industry, so I'll leave it alone. Sadly, the end user is the quality control in these rigs nowadays. I'm sorry for your problems. Best of luck with the repairs.

I hate to say this and jinx ourselves .We put this 13 3402 on the road in July of 2012 and the period of June 2015 to the present April 16,2016 is the longest consecutive period of time we have experienced without a SINGLE problem large or small of any kind.. We are high end users with lots of road miles and live in time. It can take awhile to get all the bugs out of these things. We have had some high $$ repair bills with all taken care of via the Keystone warranty, Vendor warranty or our extended warranty less deductible. Out of pocket expenses the Mor Ryde IS system and modifications to our failed holding tanks to prevent future failures which we have not had. We feel we may have turned the corner and can now enjoy our travels without wondering what may fail next.

We felt the same way with our 2015. More problems in the first six months than our previous three Montanan combined over 12 years. Quality is not what it used to be. Having said that our 2015 is a pretty good trouble free unit after successful battles with keystone to resolve and fix.

As far as stainless steel "fog"...I have no idea what is happening to you, but you can always try rubbing some olive oil on it and rubbing with cotton cloth to see what this does to the issue. John

bdimmick, stay after them. My new 2015 has been in "warranty repair" for 7 of the 8 1/2 months that I've owned it. Disappointing, you bet....

Bev- Where are you taking your unit for the repairs? If you're coming to Omaha or Leach at Council Bluffs or Lincoln let us know so we can get together! Sorry to hear you're having so many problems with your unit!

We love our Montana and would buy it again, but having said that I've found a few missing and stripped screws on our 2016 also. Both fenders were missing a bottom screw, one of the ceiling fan blades started making horrible rubbing noises due to a loose screw falling out, we find missing or strip screws just here in there like in the deck plates in the docking station, a screw in the bathroom sink drain (no idea where that one is from) etc. My guess is either they have an influx of newbies at the factory or they need to slow their production line down a bit. Most of the issues we've had so far were from poor assembly such as a broken HDMI cable, it was installed too short and when the TV was extended it snapped off the end of the cable, broken window crank linkage, it was pretty obvious from the the sharp bend in the arms that it happened while the window was being set in place, no way not to have noticed it during installation but it was ignored. I was thinking that perhaps ours was just built on an off day, but sounds like others are seeing the screw issues. We do love the camper and we'll have it all fixed up soon, but its a shame that quality control isn't better.

We are camping this weekend and I'm happy to say that the freezer door replacement solved the condensation/frost problems. Contact Samsung and have them come out and look at it. Thanks for the olive oil suggestion. I will give it a try.

Strange you mention the issue with your Samsung frig. We bought out 353RL and the refer door was missing the piece the closes the space between the doors.

Hello all. I am new to this forum. Just took delivery of 2016 3790RD. Couple quick questions. 1. I am interested in putting a bike rack on the back bumper. Any thoughts or advice about how heavy duty these bumpers are? I am interested in hanging two mountain bikes. 2. The new Montanas have the display commander that runs all the systems. It looks like an IPAD. Working OK so far. But, on the same wall are 5 switches. They are unmarked. I have figured out what 2 of them are. They are light switches. But there are 3 switches, not marked and I am unable to figure out what they do. I asked at the dealer and got the shrug. The owners manual is useless. Any thoughts?

The three other unmarked switches are most likely your tank heaters. each of your storage tanks have an additional electric heating mat on the underside to help in sub freezing temps and are turned on with the three switches.
