Replacing Levelup touchpad

Justin at Lippert believes I need to replace my Levelup touch pad (no text appears in window).
Is replacing the pad as simple as removing the four screws on the whole (for better word) mounting plate, pulling plate forward, unplugging the control wire and popping the pad off the mounting plate?
What about the three (on my rig) cut off valves for the hydraulic slides?

Any help would be appreciated greatly!

Yes, that easy. Re the cutoff valves, on ours they are separated underneath the plate itself, so was not an issue. After installation you will have to reprogram the new touchpad. Also, cheaper if you buy direct from LCI.

Thank you 1retired06. Ordered one from LCI... out of stock.

I was not sure about the "play" allowed by the hydraulic lines.

I could have been clearer. I did not remove the outside plate frame, just the inner plate, leaving the hydraulic control valves in place. The touchpad itself has no physical interface with the hydraulic lines, strictly electronic via the wiring harness in the back.

Now I'm confused. I don't remove screws and Plate? How do you remove touch Pad?
I know the hyd lines not part of pad but are mounted thru mounting plate. If plate moves out the hydraulic lines must move with it.

I don't have levelup but I'm thinking you can remove the knobs before you remove the plate. The knobs are held on by screws on the bottom of knob that take an allen key.

Let me try again in greater detail. You don't mess with the slide control lines, you don't mess with the knobs. There is a white plate mounted with screws. The slide control lines are mounted at the bottom of the white plate. You don't mess with the white plate. That plate is not part of the touchpad replacement you ordered. Mounted on the white plate is the black touchpad. That touchpad snaps into a black frame mounted on the white plate. Take a screwdriver, should see a tab at the top, and the touchpad will pop out. It snaps in and out of a black frame mounted on the white plate with screws. Pull out the touchpad, disconnect the wiring harness, reconnect to the replacement touchpad. You can either replace the existing black frame, or do what I have done twice, just snap the new touchpad back into the existing black frame.

You can buy the LCI Touch pad at Amazon about $182.00 and change.

While we are on the subject of touch pad replacement, just what "reprogramming" is required after replacement? I honestly could not find a reference on the Lippert support site.

I doubt that. I could have done a better job of explaining. By the way, if you have the part number, you can also order on line via Amazon if Lippert is going to be out of stock for a while.

Zero point calibration for auto level function.

The reprogramming didn't make sense to me so I called Lippert tech support and talked to Mr. Varga. If you are changing the touch pad because it failed, there is no reprogramming required. He stated that the Zero Point Calibration is stored in the controller, not the pad. I think this is a good piece of information from LCI.

Interesting, LCI rep told me just the opposite, ie recalibrate after installation, during our diagnosis and order conversation. Controller memory certainly makes sense.

Be careful just trying to snap new key pad into old black frame, my new key pad would not fit into the old black frame had to use the new one . almost broke the new key pad till i looked closer at the old black frame and found a slight difference in them.

thanks airboatart..
How does the frame mount to the camper?
Haven't seen new one.

LCI..told me two different stories yesterday...checked status and was told part now in and should ship yesterday, then person who took order emailed me and said part hadn't come in yet.

bubbagulf or 1retired06. I don't know how old this thread is, but I hope one of you can see this. Our LCI electronic leveling key pad/touchpad isn't responding. It takes several tries to get it to come one, then several more tries to get it to where we need to move Monty up or down. I've been trying to find a key pad that looks like the one in our '16 Montana, because I don't know if the other will work. I'm not having any luck trying to find a keypad at the LCI website. Please let me know what website you used and part number you used. When I see the key pad that looks like mine, I click on it and get a picture of the this one, I think it's the newer one. Here is a picture of the new one. Did you use this one? Will this one work in my '16 Montana? Thank you for your response
