I know this is an old thread but I thought I would toss my contribution in --- Actual cash value policy with Liberty Mutual - $456/yr. Car, truck and house also with them. Boat with BoatUS/Geico.

A bit of a sidestep - one of our daughters had a fender bender while sitting at a traffic light caused by a stoned uninsured driver (Richmond, Virginia). Her insurance company, Nationwide, had to pay for repairs but only after they 'jerked' her around for two weeks until she ratcheted it to a high corporate level. I've suggested that she look at Progressive as a replacement. The question - have others used Progressive on their DD motor vehicles and had good luck? I suggested my company, AMICA, but they can be tough after any accident, your fault or not.

I have had good luck with Progressive Thru USAA. One claim, $7,800 to repair side of Class A after awning blew off in windstorm and beat up the fiberglass. Great customer service, never a question about how the awning was secured, etc. I have stayed with them as we progressed through 3 more RVs, now with a 3730FL at about $650 per year.

Unhappy

Trailer rides on the truck policy by Geico, I think the trailer is under $200,00.

I have a letter from sf saying I will never be dropped. 3 vehicles, 1 rv, 4 commercial buildings, 18 apt units, 1 home. I believe they are the best insurance company around. just my 3 cents

We settled on progressive several years ago.We have all our insurance through them.Home ,auto, truck, RV. We are at the Emerald level on the RV, zero deductible, stated replacement value .Premimum is just under 700.00 per year. We have used them on both the RV and the auto over the years with not a issue.

I have had sf for at least 30 years (12 on Monty). They have always been good. However, we just had a $900 accident (on other vehicle) and lose our 'forgiveness' (which means no increase in price) if we have another claim in 9 years!!!!
Wasn't too happy about that.

We're getting ready to go shopping. We plan to sell our house and go FT in the 5er. I was told we needed to purchase insurance BEFORE selling the house. Otherwise it will be very hard and expensive to find insurance. Does anyone have any experience with this situation?

Call your insurance agent and ask them. I am in the tax business and I can’t tell you how many times I have had new clients who are being audited tell me “ but my friends told me I could deduct that”.

I pay 150 year for my 2000 Monty. I only have set plans to camp around 50 nights this year. Full coverage for when it's parked and my full coverage on the truck is set up to cover all damage if an accident occurs during transport. Granted I pull a snowmobiles, boat, flatbeds, etc so I already had additional coverage to cover those.

Insurance costs depend a lot on what state you are licensed in. Some states are a lot higher than others.

Full time RVing since March 2018. My cost is about $1300 a year! I pay almost $100 a month for full coverage as a full timer with Progressive.. I had to provide proof of insurance prior to taking delivery of the 5er.

And we got hit by hail this year.$12000 in damages and progressive was perfect. Sent us an inspector who cut the check on site!!!

Side note can’t get it all fix due to nobody will do roof repair unless I leave it at the shop for weeks!! It’s kind of hard to due when you live in it full time..

We pay $530 on a brand new Montana full replacement value thru Progressive thru our USAA for this trailer. We had one minor claim they took care of quickly and we paid deductible and have had them for 5 years now

We also have USAA for Auto

I just got a new to me 2015 cougar and insured with progressive cost $400.00. I also just put in a claim on my Montana that I traded, for a broken axle that they wouldn't cover the axle but did cover the damage with a $62.00 deductible.

Must be their favorite number. I bought a new Montana and had the previous one with them. New quote was $1097. Called around and Progressive was $546 full coverage and 5 year replacement. An independent provided a Progressive quote $240 higher.
