Another decal post! General observation!

Had my minions detail the Montana this weekend. I inspected every inch including roof. I still have no pealing decals, nor any signs of Gel Coat failure. While the front of Montana has lost a little luster, the decals look great and it came back after being sealed. I wash it every couple weeks with Mcguires auto wash, and wax/seal the Gel Coat couple times a year with Wolfgang products that I use on my cars. I will note, the Montana still lives outside. No cover or storage cover ever. With our extreme weather in Redding, I am amazed at how well it's holding up. 115 degrees for weeks at a time. I can only believe it's the products I use and the TLC. I reporting this as an honest assessment of how the RV is holding up. I know lots of people complain, but our Montana with well over 30k miles under her has performed well! It's had issues I admit, but no more than I would expect from any other brand. Just FYI.

Time will tell, but I am hoping the newer decals will hold up better.

I keep my camper in a pull through facing due east. The front gets the morning sun and the back gets the evening sun almost like its setting outside. It's a High Country and the decals look new. I have washed it a couple times but that is all I have done to it.

I would say you take far more care of yours as far as cleaning and protecting than most people. And that, I am sure, would contribute to the longevity of it.

But as far as decals, there seems to be no rhyme or reason. Mine is a 2007 3075RL, back in the years of many decal problems, some within a year or two of new. But my decals did not start to peel until two years ago, and only really bad last year, and even then only on the front and rear. Got new decals (for free) from Keystone. Our trailer has been in a covered (but not enclosed) storage facility since new. But just across from ours in another Montana 3075RL that appeared within a few months of ours, maybe a 2008. Their front decals are very slightly different from ours. And their decals still look as if they just came off the production line. And I know they have never been replaced as I see it every time I go there. ?????

Our experience, deterioration starts at around the three year mark. However the decals on the 2010 looked good when we sold it. Maybe the decal product is better than in the past.

the Decals on our 06 3400 looked good after 5 years but began to shrink at year 6 and peel at year 7. We never waxed it nor did anything special to the decals. It was exposed to the elements for the entire 7 years. A local marine graphic shop said the OEM graphics were of a quality that could be expected to last 5 to 7 years. Ours did.

At three years, our graphics still look like the day we picked it up in southern alabama. I do clean and wax with nufinish every couple of months. Haven't convinced wife that she wants to be a minion yet and do it for me...heck, she's younger...more flexible... Tow tomorrow to points west from new mexico...don't expect any issues except more dirt, soot that will need to be cleaned off. John

We have an 05 and all of the decals have either shrunk or started peeling, started about year 3, we wash it every year sits outdoors year round. Friends of ours have an 06,never seen soap and water on walls, roof, nothing. Sits out year round and the decals look as if they have been just put on. Like was said, no rhyme or reason to this mess. Makes me jealous to see that.

The newer Graphics are way better, If you look real close and run your hand over them they have tiny micro holes in them that lets the Graphics Breathe and that is why I do not wax them ,if you have a newer Monty LET THEM BREATHE BABY

My 2005 are faded and peeling. I finally attempted to remove rear graphics yesterday. I was shocked how easy they came off. I used a heat gun and with a thick leather glove I just just rolled the decals off with my fingers. It only took about 15 minutes. I then wiped with paint thinner to remove the little residue that was left. Still waiting to hear of someone who has painted on stripes or mountains.

We bought our '10 in 2013 and there were a couple of cracks running through the decals on the front. Now, 2 years later, the cracks are prevalent. I expected the peeling to be starting by now, but so far it hasn't. I made inquiries at Keystone and was told to talk to my dealer. They said the camper is too old to replace the originals, but come on in and take a look at the current ones and pick something out. I'm still considering options. The cracking isn't too obvious until you get up close, but I'm sure things will get considerably worse.
