Marshall LPG Regulators - Chapter 11

Most of our Montana's, possibly all, are equipped with at least one Marshall LPG Regulator. Many of us have had LPG regulator failures and have spent some time on the phone with Ed Lee JR at their home office in Texas. Unfortunatly Marshall's parent company has declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Chapter 11 is intended to allow reorganization to deal with outstanding debts and try to recover and stay in business. However this current situation may impact service and support for us Montana owners. See announcement below:

AUSTIN, Texas -- S.H. Leggitt Company, the parent of Marshall Brass and Marshall Gas Controls, has filed for bankruptcy protection under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code, RV Daily Report has learned.

The case was filed Feb. 2 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Texas. According to the petition, the company does expect that funds will be available for distribution to unsecured creditors. The company lists between 200 and 999 creditors and assets between $1 million and $10 million. Total liabilities are listed between $10 million and $50 million.

A meeting of creditors is scheduled for March 10 at 10 a.m. in Austin Room 118 of the Homer Thornberry Building at 903 San Jacinto in Austin, Texas.

The company's largest creditor is Chase Brass and Copper, which is owed more than $2 million.

Chapter 11 is a process in which a company seeks to work with creditors, with the court mediating any disputes, to reorganize the debt so that it can be paid and the company can stay in business.
