Toilet Leaking

Need help on how to take the pedal off, so I can see where its leaking from. It doesn't leak when the pedal is all the way down to flush, only when its pushed down an inch or so, when you try to fill the bowl a little.

I think if you lift up on the pedal it will fill the bowl with out leaking. Jim

Maybe he'd prefer to spend 15 minutes fixing it himself rather than hooking up, driving to the dealer (however far that is), unhooking, driving back home, waiting for it to be fixed, drive back, hook it back up, drive home and re-park it. Our dealer is over 200 miles away. And if he is currently camping, add the tear down and setup time too.

Even on my vehicles, I'll fix a lot of stuff myself rather than go back to a dealer because it's faster, easier and in some cases, better.

Maybe I misread the post. What exactly is leaking, the pedal or the bowl? Jim

there is a round cover on the outside base of the pedal that you can pop off to access the screws that hold the pedal/valve assembly. I used a pocket knife to pop mine off.

Doesn't it matter which brand toilet he has. On our 2008 3400RL we had a Dometic that you lifted the pedal for more bowl water. Our present 2012 3585SA has a Thetford that you slightly press down on the pedal to add water to bowl.

GaryM : Not that easy to do when full timing and still working, Plus we have five dogs, so leaving it at the dealer is not an option for us. And they don't send out Mobile techs.
Wingerphil : I checked, there is No cap. I see where one could be. But theres not one.
Jimcol : No lifting on this model, Its the Valve behind the pedal, But not when flushing just when trying to fill.

My Pamphlet only shows parts doesn't say anything about how to take it apart.
