Winegard TV "bat wing" roof antenna maintenance

The Winegard rep at this years fall rally mentioned lubricating the antenna twice yearly (according to the manual). WELL shucks, why didn't I think of that. My antenna was sticky coming down causing it to chatter or bounce when lowering it. I asked the already known question after he said lubricate. He confirmed lubrication should clear that up.

Today in the wind storm, different story, I did lubricate it according to the WINEGARD SENSAR ANTENNA INSTALLATION/OPERATION MANUAL and it works great.

This is a good time to inspect the coax boot that likes to creep up and let water in, voice of experience.

Thanks John I have had mine over 6 yrs and never sprayed it and it does bounce when you let it down. I don't use it much but I will go though it in a wk or so when I wash the top.

A couple of years ago, a bunch of Moc's were buying the Terk replacement heads for the antenna's, there HD and smaller, I was told you would get better reception, and picture, so a year later I bought one, there about fifty bucks, or a little less, anyway I was not sure they were all I was told they were, well, they are, we get a great picture, it takes up less rooftop space, but thanks for the lube reminder, I just added it to my do list
