Light stay on
Has anyone had a problem with a 2011 Montana 3400RL the front flood light and a running light on the frame behind the step stays on. I did remove the bulb from the front door side flood light but not the one behind the step.
On our way camping I contually got a message on the truck control panel that stated there was an electrical problem on the trailer. When I shut off the truck and restarted it the message went away but would return a short time later.
I have a feeling that there is a short somewhere.
Any help will be appreciated.

Had the same issue and found that if you turn the light on with the remote unit - then you can only turn it off with the remote unit. The light under the steps will only come on using the remote. None of the interior switches will turn the step light on - hope that helps!

Had a similar problem with mine on maiden voyage - dealer finally told me about fact "security" light switch on remote is the only way to turn them off if they have been activated with the remote. Don't remember activating them with the remote, but when I used it they went off - haven't had the probem since then!

As stated above, try turning it off with the remote fob. On with remote off with remote. That's the way it works on our 3455SA.

It's the remote. Been there done that. Took awhile to find that problem.

My 2011 2955 has three switches inside the door on the left entering the unit. The middle switch turns on the scare lights and the light under the steps. It also turns on the LED light for the hitch I was told that the only way to do this was with the fob. Apparently not! By the way, the switch also turns them off. Go figure!

I did get the security light to turn off by disconnecting the batteries. From the dealer the remote will need to be reset and we will have that done when we get to Idaho next month.
Thanks you all for your comments.

2011 Montana 3455SA purchased used 2 weeks ago on our maiden winter trip south. Door side light, hitch light and step light found to be on all the time, starting only yesterday...we did not get a remote from the dealer...will a remote from another similar unit solve to problem until the dealer sends us a new remote?

Lonnie,
You should be able to use a similar remote from another unit, but will need to program it for your receiver. Locate your transmitter which should be mounted on the wall above the house battery in the front compartment. Follow this link: Programming and follow the "PROGRAMMING THE TRANSMITTER" instructions. The transmitter should look like the one in the photo. When your dealer sends you a remote fob you will need to follow the same re-programming procedure again. I also recommend you carry a couple of extra batteries with you because they don't seem to last very long. The number is 23A. When you replace the battery, there are 2 screws that hold the remote fob together. One is located where the keyring is and is readily visible, but the second is hidden under the instruction sticker on the back approximately in the center of the fob. You should be able to locate it with your finger.
One last thing, if the transmitter fails to go into the programming mode, disconnect all power from the rig (shore power and battery) and allow the rig to sit without power for 15 minutes. Then hook everything back up and the transmitter should allow you to reprogram it.
I hope this helps and keep us posted.
Jack

Any remote will work, but they will have to be prog for your unit and then back to original unit.... no big thing, instructions are on the controller near the hydraulics tank...
Good luck...!!!
