Removing the commode?
Now that I am at stage three of my water closet re-do, I find the floor is not working with my new color scheme. I would like to put something else on the floor but I would like to remove the commode and put it back to do it right.
It appears to be an easy thing, but those are famous last words. For anyone who has removed the commode I would appreciate any tips, tricks, or techniques.

I believe it is just about the same as in the stick house. I haven't done it but the ideas are the same aren't they...Seal etc? I would think so...

We replaced the commode in our previous 5er. True it is the same as a stick house. Two bolts then the seal. You might want to buy a new seal if you are going to do this.
Happy trails.......................

The toilet replacement is not hard, just remove the bolts, disconnect the water, and remove from the seal. You will need to replace the seal. Most seals are made of a beeswax substance, but I have seen some that have a red rubber gasket. Either way, it is best to replace to keep the sewer gas from coming back up in the toilet. Should not be as hard as putting down the new floor. Best of luck.

It's a snap. As said above, shut off the water, disconnect water line from the commode, remove the two nuts under those covers and lift it off. Oh, have something handy to lay over the hole so you don't have to enjoy the odor from the black tank too long.
We replaced our commode over a year ago. It really was easy.
