lighting in slide out

I have a 2003 Mountaineer 315RLS TT. The lights in the slide out are 110V only. As we do a lot of dry camping using only the 12V RV batteries, this leaves the slide out pretty dark. Has anyone looked into changing these lights to 12V?

Thanks

Don,
First, Welcome to the MOC. We're in Chandler
We have pretty much the same TT. Do you have a 12V light on the wall of the slideout? Ours does.
If you have this you could do as we did. I added a 12V dual light to the bottom of the Cabinets, over the Dining table.
I drilled a hole in the slide wall where the book shelf is, and was able to fish a lenght of lamp cord down inside the wall to the hole where the wall lamp is. I then connected to the 12V there. Then I ran the wire into the cabinet and drilled a hole to connect the new dual lights. The Cabinets are hollow at the base of them and this is where the wire is, so it's not in the way of anything that's stored in the Cabinets.
A person could use the same method and add another one over the sofa.
It worked out very well for us. With this method we have the best of both worlds, 120V and 12V's.
If my discription is confusing I'll send you some Pics, if you'd like. I can post them on our Web page.

Happy Camping

The slide wall light on my 2003 315RL is 110V as are the two overhead lamps. Sounds like a good solution, but will not work on my TT.

In my reasearch, I find the 110V circuit that has the slide wall/ceiling lamps on it also has the 110V outlets for the TV/sound system and a table lamp at the rear of the TT. If the circuit continues from the 110V TV outlets on to the slide, I could disconnect the circuit there and connect it with 12V, thus only having 12V in the slide area. I would then change all the lights in the slide to 12V. If the table lamp is now 12V, I could install a 12V bulb.

Thanks
