Black Water Tank

Can anyone tell me why the Montana 3400 RL has the washing machine drain plumbed into the black water tank. The first time we did a load of wash we got a smelly suprise. I am thinking of replumbing the drain into the gray water tank like I think it should have been done originally.

I am with you. I think to plumb the washer into the black water tank is wrong. The grey water tank makes way more sense. However, which ever tank is plumbed, the discharge valve must be open or you will experience an unwelcome geyser.

My washer is plumbed into the gray tank. However I have to make sure the black tank is closed off or I get wash water back into the black tank. Make sure that is not your case.

Grey water tank is where it should be. The black tank should only be for the toilet. Re plumb it if you can.

If you have a 3400, you must still be under warranty....that certainly should be a dealer's problem...

I remember reading an earlier thread on the washer drain plumbing...might want to search it out and check on it.
