A man who had just undergone a very complicated operation kept complaining about a bump on his head and a terrible headache. His nurse was concerned as his operation was surgery to close a vein in his leg and there was no earthly reason why he should be complaining of a headache.

Finally his nurse, fearing that the man might be suffering from some post-operative shock, spoke to the surgeon about it.

The surgeon assured the nurse, "Don't worry about a thing. He really does have a bump on his head. About halfway through the operation we ran out of anesthetic."

Sounds about right. True Story: My friend and fellow pastor was having open heart surgury. He taped a sign to his belly under the gown that read: "I support the AMA and hate socialized medicine." Before he was completely out, he heard uproarous laughter in the OR.
