Onslow Beach
Sitting here at Camp Lejeune, enjoying the HOT sunshine. I saw one Monty leave yesterday before I could say "hello", there's one at the end near the office but can never catch the guy home.

Sitting in NY state, I don't have any idea who that might be, but could not help but comment that it is really hard to imagine anyone sitting in an RV on/at Onslow Beach!! When I was last there, it sure was not in an RV and it was a really long time ago...enjoy Jerry!

'bout 30 sites here,(not counting tent sites and small camper sites) they're all full. Hard to beat full hook-ups, right off the beach for fifteen bucks! Jerry

Fishing the inland water way or walking the beach. Just hope the turn style bridge does not lock out when not in the closed position.

For an installation the size of Camp LeJeune, I was disappointed with the RV Park. I thought the sites were to close together and the facilities were not all that great. But, yes, $15 a night does not give a lot of room to complain.
Where are you headed from there?

Wayne we just finished spending the month of June at the Colonies campground at Fort Monroe - tiny little base soon to be BRACed in Phoebus, right by the Hampton Roads tunnel, lot of history there, some of the fortifications were re-designed by Gen Lee and President Davis was a prisoner for a short time there after the War Between the States. We just got this beast (2010 3400RL) in Nov and have been home (stick house) less time than we've been in the RV, so . . . we're gonna head home next week and get some minor warranty work done, re-stock and get ready to head up to Richfaa's Sandusky rally, then to the Hillsville, VA rally, back home for a short and then off to Indiana for the big rally. Just retired last year (both of us) - been keeping pretty busy. The park is rather small, you are right Wayne, but they're not even repairing the pier that one of the hurricanes took down so I know they won't spend any money to improve this park, even though this is a Large base.
You are right John, we spend a hot and humid coupla hours one day waiting for them to fix the drawbridge (stuck open) so we could get back to the RV.

Jerry,
Yep! I'm afraid that many good sites have been BRAC'ed, and it's to bad.
Don't get me wrong, we would stay at CL again for the access to everything, and friends. It's just a shame they will not, with ALL that land, improve the RV Park. We just spent from the last of April to now traveling the West cost, up 101 to Norther WA, then ID, MO, WY, CO, and now back in Texas, almost home. We had the pleasure of staying at many of the military CG's along the way, and the majority of them were well worth the stay. Just one of our benefits.
Sounds like you have a busy schedule. Us also. We leave the 1st of Sept. for the Northeast for some commitments. We will definitely try to stay at Lunga Park, Quantico for a few weeks to visit grand-kids. If you have not been there, give it a try some day.
