Valterra twist
I installed one of those Valterra twist on valves on my sewer line,It works Great but as all too many have stated it doesn’t lock on very well and I find myself holding one end as I turn the valve.
My solution is I wrapped the locking end with silicone tape I simply positioned the valve and wrapped it up,the tape blends in well can’t notice it.Holds real tight and solid and very easy to remove.
I keep a roll in the tool box it may come in handy traveling.Thank you for reading.

You may not need tape. I just drilled a small hole thru the end and into the sewer line. Put in a small screw that attaches into the sewer line so it no longer turns.

Makes me wonder if you are twisting the valve on completely. There is a raised land on the locking rabs that you have to clear On ours it takes a little extra effort.

Valterra
I’m not sure what qualifies me to twist on a valve, but I can rebuild an engine so I’m pretty confident that I twisted it on right but thanks for the reply.
Also I thought about using a screw but I had two thoughts the first being perforating my sewer line didn’t sit well, also there is torque involved when removing the sewer line and eventually the screw could works it way out.
For me it was a no brainer, tape also allows me to remove valve if needed and reapply just as easy, and most of all it is solid as a rock. Thanks guys I really appreciate the feedback.

I like the take idea. I have always put a dab of silicone on the tab after installation and that has held the valve in place. The tape may be what I try next time I remove or install the valve.

Jet, Did you simply wrap over the connection after the valve was on or was tape used between the valve and sewer pipe before the valve was installed?

Hi and thank you sir,
Yes I installed valve first Then wrapped new valve where it twist on and then onto existing pipe.I cut the tape in 12in strips to make it easier as the tape has a peel off backing.Good luck sir, works great.
