Picking up our brand new 2018 3921FB this Saturday and will be our first fifth wheel and our 4th RV. Having a little buyers remorse though as we went to go buy a toy hauler or a travel trailer to haul around our electric bikes that weigh in at 50#. With all of the shock and awe looking at RV's we kind of lost our focus when we saw this one. Now we are trying to figure out where we are going to put them as it seems on the back it will be like living in a bouncy house. Was thinking of a 2-3' high wood box on top of a cargo carrier since bike racks seem so flimsy. Other ideas are a front hitch on our f250 or maybe in the bed hanging out over the side of the bed.

Welcome to the forum! If it were me, I'd put them on the front of the TV. I would also be concerned about the pin weight of that model, or for that matter a toy hauler, for a 250. Make sure the weight isn't too high for the tires you can buy.

Gunny,

Welcome to the forum! This is a great place to learn and share. We use a back rack on the back of the trailer but with a little lighter bikes.

Welcome, Ours Montana does not have a rear hitch.
It’s a bit of a hassle but we load my non electric bike on a tarp on the bed strapped down. Then put wife’s electric bike under the dining table never moves.
Oh and chairs get moved to between living room slides. Sure glad we stay more than s few days at each stop.
I’m considering the front rack for the Ford.

I have a 130 lb. generator on a modified rack on the back. When we travel at length I plan to put my recumbent bike on there also. The welder and I stood and jumped on the rack to make me feel secure....I weigh 185 and he is about 160. This should work. I plan to travel with less than half a tank of fresh water to make up for the additional weight in the back.

Since your trailer pin weight will far exceed the weight rating of that truck, I would mount a hitch on the back of the trailer. I hang more weight on mine that what you are contemplating. Weight on the back will slightly lighten weight on the front. Did the dealer know what your tow vehicle is?

My 2015 hc has a box bumper, and I bracketed 2 arms with angle iron and u bolts from the box bumper to support the ends of the bike carrier. All side to side sway was eliminated. I take the batteries out of the e-bikes, and have had no issues whatsoever carrying. If you have a 2 in. receiver, but no,bumper, I think younwouldmbe ok with a quality rack.
