Does your Montana have a Slide or Two?
I was kind looking for something to do yesterday so I did an exterior inspection of my Montana and discovered a black piece of something laying on the ground underneath one of my slides. It was a piece of rubber that had fallen off one end of one of my slides. It meets the body of the trailer when the slide is retracted and provides a seal and cushion. It was installed at the factory with two-sided tape which had lost it's adhesive ability after the stickum dried out I guess. I looked at the other slides and sure enough there were a number of them being held in place by nothing other than friction or love or something. I've taken them all off and cleaned the surfaces (rubber & slide) and remounted them with a healthy dose of silicone. I checked today and they're all there for life (I hope).
I pass on this amazing discovery to you in the hopes that it might prompt you to check yours and avoid having them fall off and disappear thereby causing cursing, frustration and hair pulling. Who needs that ... right?

They're on the side of the slides Dick, about a foot from the bottom. Easy to spot and fix!

My dealer gave me several as spares, as one was missing when I inspected at purchase. Only present on certain year models.

I have some of those on my 3400RL, but each of them has a screw thru the middle holding it on. And the room rubber seal is developing a hole where it meets the screw.

My '06 slide rubber is on pretty solid even after almost 7 years. The only problems I had with slides were the weak autoresetting breakers (which I had to fix myself) and the black plastic cable supports that cracked (which I fixed using the hinge fix). Do you think this is another weak brainiac solution to lessen cost by using cheaper double side tape?
These RV manufacturers never cease to amaze with some of the cost cutting measures for the factory at the expense of owners fixing their manufacturing decisions later.
BTW - the two fixes I did, came from ideas in the MOC membership.

I'm going to have to check that trim, too. We've had one piece disappear three times now. It results in water getting into the interior at the front corner of our living room slide. Our desperation stopgap "fix" is to stuff that corner with rags from the inside before traveling in inclement weather.
Is 3M Trim Adhesive available at hardware stores or must one go to CW or an RV Dealer to find it?

I think you'll be able to get 3M Trim Adhesive at any major auto supply store.
