A whole winter? No. For a weekend or so, yes. Furnace Creek Campground, although the park is huge, this is about a centrally located as one can get. You're equidistant from just about everything, but Furnace Creek has many amenities available, including shopping, dining, swimming pool, golf and even an airport.

Winter is the rainy season in Death Valley, the last time we were there, the campground and surrounding roads were closed due to a record deluge. We were caught on the road between Beatty and Furnace Creek, when it was closed behind us, which we didn't know. I'm glad I was inside an F-250 diesel 4x4, because the roads became rivers with mud and debris flows. When we finally got the the Furnace Creek junction we discovered that the road had been closed at that end too. Our trailer was in the campground and we had to cross a very swollen creek to get there, again big truck did the trick.

It kept on raining into the next day so we wanted to leave. We couldn't, we were trapped, we had to wait until later in the day when the creek went down enough to allow us to cross the underwater bridge. Exit through the west end of the park was closed so we had to leave towards Las Vegas, and then we had to wait until the roads were cleared of boulders. Lots of damage, entire brick and mortar restrooms were gone, but the usually dry lake bed was full.

Just sayin'......

One of the Nicest in that area is one in Pahrump NV called Nevada Treasures located 6 mile North of Pahrump. Which is close to Death Valley and TO Vegas

If you're going to stay a full winter would recommend the Escapees 'Pair-A-Dice' park in Pahrump to take advantage of full hook ups. You're about an hour from Death Valley and likewise to Vegas. We camped at Death Valley for 5 days and had an awesome time. Death Valley is a must see place. Our campground (Texas Creek, I think was the name of it) was dry camping only. No hook ups, but they did have a dump station. Not sure if other campgrounds have hook-ups.

We have stayed there and enjoyed it (with our old trailer, not the Monty). I believe there are full hookups in Stovepipe Wells. It is definitely worth the visit.
