Has anyone put different recliners in there 5th wheel? What did you replace them with? Did you have trouble getting them out the door? We don't think the recliners that came with the 5th wheel are very comfortable. Thanks for any suggestions

We have never cared for the OEM. We did find a set LZ Boys that fit at a furniture store. We later moved them to the house and bought swing rockers. They are much lighter. Most of the ones we looked at before we got the rockers were a bit too big for the space. We can't remember how hard it was to remove the OEM, but the backs came off of the LZ Boys and they are much lighter than the OEM.

I am with you, the recliners in our Monty isn't all that comfortable to me. My DW does not have a problem with them. Someone on the forum replaced their recliners with LazyBoys. I am not sure of the model.

We looked at a local LazyBoy store and found a couple of recliners that would fit. They were wall huggers and the color would match. We did not get them because at the time we were thinking of trading units.

We just got our 3400 a few weeks ago, and the first thing we did was take out the recliners and replaced them with Lazy Boy's that we had at home. My wife and I were able to get the OEM units out, though they were heavy and took some turning to get out the door. The Lazy Boy's were easy since as stated above, the backs came off and they were much lighter. We find that when we move we have to take the backs off in order for both slides to come in. We thought about moving the couch and putting the chairs there but the space is too small.

We traded ours out for some Lay-Z boys. Very comfortable and fit very easy through the door. Love them. We have a couple of them at home too.

We replaced ours with a single LazyBoy from Nebraska Furniture Mart. It's not a big one, no bigger than the OEM, and maybe a bit smaller, overall. The only OEM furniture in here is the dining table and desk chair.

Rather than try to explain it, here's a picture. Note, this is our summer configuration. In the winter the recliner and sofabed swap places, to uncover the heat vent currently under the sofabed.

What exactly is a swing rocker? I looked online but it brings up baby swings....don't want one of those !!! LOL

Wendy and Mark, We replaced the OEM recliners with a couple of smaller LazyBoy recliners. The LazyBoy recliner we purchased is LAZBO-015-532 Wall Away Recliner in leather. I'm not sure if this is Nebraska Furniture Marts number or if it will transfer over to Lazy Boys galleries. Anyway we bought two for $555 each. The LazyBoy store wanted over $900 each. Sorry I don't have any pictures to send. It was no trouble getting the originals out. New ones were even easier to place in the rig.

I was calling it a platform rocker, Mary said it's a swing rocker. It's actually a glider rocker recliner similar to this but with round wood instead of flat.

They were in the rear on the last one and in the slide on the new one.

I just took both of mine out of our trailer and got a "European" style recliner and ottoman to replace mine. They're very comfortable and much easier to move and strap down. I wish I had done it a long time ago.

To remove the recliners, lay them on the side and bring the seat our first and then twist them so the back come out. Gravity helps quite a bit.

We put in 2 Flexsteel Euro Recliners when we bought our Montana. We told the dealer that we didn't want the OME recliners so they took a little off the price. We love the Flexsteels.

We also replaced our recliners with two Ekornes chairs with ottomans. These are expensive but very light weight, more so than a regular recliner. These are similar to Flexsteel Euro or Stressless types of chairs.

We did what Steve R. did, put the couch under the back window and added one Lazy Boy Wallhugger Recliner in the Long slide. I use the recliner and Cathy and Villa the couch. We opted for a non swiveling, non rocking unit, cloth finish and very comfortable, much less weight than the OEMs also. Cathy turns it sideways in the slide when moving. Sunny and I love it....Will replace the couch some day also. Too heavy a unit and no use for the bed in it. My son came one weekend last year and ended up sleeping on the floor it was so uncomfortable.

Phil, Vicki just pushes ours back against the wall and it rides fine there. Yours may be too big for that.
