Level Ease

One of the best investments I think we have made in a long time was the addition of the Level Ease landing gear system. When we took delivery of our new Mountaineer in April of this year, I was not too happy with the speed of the landing gear motor. It to say the least is painfully slow. After some inquirys, I found out that that is the way they are.. We just sold our Sunnybrook that had "tolerable" speed on the landing gear movement. Something had to be done. Even my very conservitive wife said, "can't you find a better way". When I told her of the Level Ease system, she said "buy it" I said it's $295.... She said "buy it". Well anyway, I ordered it and it came in less than a week.
It was easy to install, just followed the directions. I did have one question that was not answered in the instructions so called the company. Left a message, and less than half hour I got a call from a very pleasant and helpful man. He was so knowlegeable, I thought he may have been the owner of the company. Anyway my question was answered, and I was on my way. Instalation and setup went without a problem. We have taken two trips with it so far and now I wouldn't be without it. Level Ease has made hitching, unhitching, retracting and leveling such a breeze. From the level position, I hit the "connect" button, then while Level Ease puts the unit in position for hitching, I am backing the truck in position. (Look ma, no hands) The hitch stops in a precise pre-determined position for hitching. Back the truck, hitch up, then push the retract button and the jacks retract to the travel position. After your journey and you are ready to unhitch, hit the "disconnect" button and the jacks lower to the position for disconnecting. While Level Ease is doing it's job, I can be disconnecting the umbilical cord, placing chocks, etc. When it stops, drive the truck out from under the unit. Then just hit the "level" button and the unit will level itself from front to rear.
Bottom line, I would buy it again in a heartbeat. The good news, I will never have to buy another for this unit because there is a liftime warranty on it. The Level Ease system falls into the "convenience" catagory. It is kind of like other things we have come to enjoy and would never be without like food, a house, shoes, etc. If anyone wants more info, please feel free to e-mail me or just use the forum. BTW, I am in no way connected with the Level Ease company, just a "Happy Camper"

Don't you still have to level side to side 1st manually? If so, that's not quite "push button automatic"

Sounds like something that we all would love to have. However, I would like some more information on it. Just how it is installed, what if anything is taken off and replaced, and so on?....Jjoe

My question for the LevelEase folks was a wiring question. The 2010 Montana Mountaineer comes with a wireless remote system that controls awning, outside security lights, rear stabilizer jacks, slideout rooms, and the front landing gear. In the LevelEase directions you are directed to remove the factory up/down switch in the side compartment and connect the LevelEase to the old switch wires (the LevelEase replaces the factory switch). My question was what if anything do I need to do with the remote portion of the electric circuit? Will the front jacks still be operable if needed by the remote control?
The answer was simple. No, you can not use LevelEase in conjunction with the remote setup. The LevelEase circuitry would be backfed and burn out diodes in the unit. The Tech told me that they had just got done replacing one under warranty just for this cause. The solution was simple, and even easier than removing the factory switch. Simply disconnect the wires at the jack motor and connect the LevelEase wires there directly to the motor. Just cap or tape off the disconnected wires. Quick and easy answer and solution. After the job was complete all I did was make up a label for the factory swith that said "DISCONNECTED" and put it over the swith.
